Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Oh now hubby thinks I should stay and try the registers and see how I go

@Shaz51 @MDT @Owlunar @BPDSurvivor @Faith-and-Hope

I just got a message from a friend that works on registers. She said all register girls have been talking about what happened and making assumptions as to what happened and why I left. Great!!!!

I want to go away. I want to hide away.
My friend said it's bullying and I should take it further.
I hate confrontations.
my elbow is sore. I don't know what I've done but I need to rest it snd no heavy lifting

Re: Need to vent

That sounds super tough @BlueBay. I can understand wanting to run and hide when there's been a difficult situation, assumptions and you're worried about what'll happen next. That anxiety and fear can feel really uncomfortable to sit with too. Wishing you the strength and courage to do what's right for you, whatever that might be. Take care 💙

Re: Need to vent

Bullying - yes @BlueBay - it does seem like that

I know you hate confrontation - I think most people do.

You never had the chance to stand up to your abusers - ask yourself if you want these ******* on your mind forever too

Think about it - we all need to stand up for ourselves and therefore others - I would stand up for you

But in the end - it's your choice

Dec💜💙

Re: Need to vent

Hey @BlueBay ,

Sorry your morning didn't go according to plan.

In hindsight, do you think the junior supervisor said what he/she did because it was a personal attack at you, or that he/she was stressed and was not aware of your late start?

I don't know your workplace, but I do know what it's like when there's a lot of work and a breakdown in communication. Ive had times when I get angry because I haven't been told something, but in the end, it was not their intention - it was simply a break in communication.

Ive read research papers which conclude that people with BPD read neutral expressions or comments as 'anger' or 'extreme disapproval'. What are your thoughts on this?

@BlueBay , you've wanted to be trained at the registers. Here's your chance. As a side note, if you really have to leave, leave once you've been trained! The more skills you have, the higher the chance of re-employment?

Good luck. I'm not going to spell out my thoughts.

Happy to answer any of your questions though!

Re: Need to vent

Hi,

Adding to my last post, if anyone is interested, you can do a quick search on BPD and 'anger bias'. Very interesting research.

Some research conclude that it is a deficit in reading emotions, while others flip it to say it is 'enhanced emotional recognition'... whatever it is, it all comes down to emotional instability and an anger bias.

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BPDSurvivor

The supervisor was well aware that I was coming in late. She had no right to ask questions about my appt.

in regard to this there was no lack of communication. And looking back the supervisor that took my call and said ok to been late didn't even back me up. When the other girl had a go at me she was standing behind me heard the conversation but didn't say "hang on I called earlier"

ive had a bit of time to think about it. I think I'll go in and be trained on the registers and still be aware of how I get treated. If it's still the same then I'll leave.
im very anxious about going in tomorrow. Feel sick and not interested in food

I'm not sure what to think about the research paper. Msybe I do read into things very angrily and personal.
I have enjoyed today not been at work. Enjoyed a coffee this morning alone at the beach sitting in the rocks. Now im

ay the park with my daughter snd littke A.
thanks for your support @BPDSurvivor @Owlunar @TideisTurning @MDT @Shaz51

Re: Need to vent

Hey @BlueBay
I empathise with you. My workplace is shite. I'm really done with it.

I have decided I will reduce my days if I don't get these new jobs I've applied for. I'm really done with it. I will spend more time on study that way.

The management here is pathetic. I am treated like a second class employee.

Today I got a recommendation for emailing stuff quickly. I felt like chucking it back at them after the crap I do and what I am expected to do. I just said thanks and that's it.

I'm really fed up too @BlueBay I feel for you.

I'm sorry to hear its tough for you my friend. We need to support each other through this

Re: Need to vent

Hey @MDT

two more emails tonight telling me I didn't get jobs I applied for.
I'm so screwed. I'm hating this job hunting shit. The pressure of searching is too much.
I can't deal with this anymore.
I'm so over it.
