Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Hi @BlueBay,

That sounds like it would off been a confronting experience. It was clever of you to hang up and call Telstra and check with them.

It really is a shame that we have to navigate through emails, phone calls etc because of scammers. It has rattled me in the past too so I understand what you mean.

You should be proud of yourself - you thought quickly and you acted fast. I hope you are okay.

Big hugs,

FloatingFeather

Re: Need to vent

@BlueBay, wow, what a terrifying near miss! It's no wonder you're a bit shakey. How are you feeling now?

It seems like you've learnt a lot from your recent experiences. And while it should never have happened, you've learned from it. That is a real strength to you. I think it's great thinking on your feet to call Telstra to check.

I thought I'd also share this website run by the Federal Government called ScamWatch. Maybe it will help you feel prepared with what to do and what to watch out for ❤️

Hi @Former-Member

I’m ok. Just angry at myself for being so stupid in thinking it could be true call.
it’s made me very scared if everyone. I don’t trust people.
I’ve been scammed with Medibank and Optus and have also had our bank accounts money taken. Total of 3-4,000 a few years ago.
it was horrible. Feel violated.

I will be more careful now when receiving calls.
i even have received msgs that are scams.

its a horrible world out there.

Re: Need to vent

@BlueBay ❤️ I'm sorry that happened to you. But remember, this was just a neat miss! You had the thought to check if it was real. And now you ave a rule of thumb: don't tell anyone your passwords over the phone!

And your suspicion is understandable. I hope you can manage it ok ❤️

hi everyone @Shaz51 @Former-Member @FloatingFeather @Emelia8 @oceangirl @Snowie @Eve7 @BPDSurvivor and others reading along

What a week last week. our landline got fixed; then almost got scammed by "Telstra". Picked up our car that was been fixed after damage a few weeks ago. pick up car to find - no one comes out to show us repair work; handed keys and that's it. Come home and hubby finds a few things wrong with it. He is a very keen car guy and knows he's cars. so he rang the manager and complained. the service was terrible. the manager didn't believe hubby and i took car back on friday. again he still didn't believe it was their fault. but they clearly removed trims and replaced them with cream instead of grey. that wasn't the right colour from the start. he has now said he will reorder trims and other parts and i will have to go back.

i then called RACV and put a complaint in and wanted them to know what was going on.

So they will escalate the issue and will be in touch with me.

Hi @BlueBay,

Sounds like you and your husband have had a pretty busy week. I hope you get your car sorted out soon - some mechanics are great and some not so much....

Hope this week is a more relaxed one for you.

Hugs,
