Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

I'm with you @BlueBay . Aligning with @Owlunar 's post "You can't change the people around you, but you can change the people around you." A bit of a twist, but I hope you understand what this phrase means.

Hugs,

BPDSurvivor

Re: Need to vent

Hey @BPDSurvivor

not very smart - don't understand what that means. Need yiu to explain pls.
hi @Owlunar I'm struggling. I can't explain it.

I'm working this morning but who knows my hours may be cut again. I need to let all my emotions out - anger frustration sadness.
feeling fragile at the tip of an emotional outburst.
I'm really cranky at hime. But I don't think hubby understands the impact of my mum has on me.
I have to organise things. Like the phone bill. There's been a huge mix up and now I have to sort it out because hubby has no idea. It really gets me angry.
i don't know Whst to do. I'm trying very hard to enjoy my life day by day. Sometimes hour by hour. I'm very teary.
im seeing my doctor after work. I'm not seeing my psych until next wed and psychologist next fruday.
I'm nervous because I've got gastroscopy and colonoscopy this Friday. I'm worried about thst. Then next Wednesday afternoon I have ultrasound to check on fibroids. Nervous about that too.
Oh I just want to be scooped up hugged and let me cry.

rhis afternoon I'm taking A to a friends house. She has a pool. My D has an appt so she'll come later on.

I really don't want to go to wirk. I'm actually dreading going. Once I'm there it's not bad only because of the nice customers that will stop to chst. Not the managers or my supervisor- they all ignore me.
a few of the juniors can't believe I'm still on baskets. They don't understand why I'm not on registers. I'm sick of asking. Hiw many times do I need to ask??? I think that's why I feel like I have the shittest job ever.

anyway I better go get ready. Start wirk in 40 mins.

im sorry I haven't supported many on here lately. I feel that I should leave because I can't be supportive like others are.
I better go.

@BlueBay

hi honey

im sure you're not very familiar with me but I've been reading your thread for some time now and I see you struggling.
I had similar challenges 4 and 1/2 years ago when I resigned from my role as a psychologist and during my exit interview I gave my boss, a psychiatrist, too many home truths about the way he ran the business. At 1am the next morning 2 very nice cops knocked on my door and an hour later an ambulance turned up to transport me to the local psych ward as an involuntary patient. I was put on an antipsychotic for 18 months which bought on osteo arthritis, bad, that I probably would have got in 15 years anyway, but I sire didn't appreciate it. I ended up applying for NDIS and the 3rd time I was successful. I've been on it for a year and the support has made a huge difference. Prior to that I was in so many ch pain and had the blackest depression of my life.
the woman that was my strongest advocate explained ndis is like a very ugly doorway ( the application process) to a very beautiful house. I can reinforce her sentiments.
you seem from my perception to meet the criteria. Mental health diagnosis with severe health issues.

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay,

I am sorry to hear you are feeling rejected, unloved and abandoned by those closest to you. That would be a horrible feeling. I hope you are okay.

I have sent you an email to check in.

Warm regards,

tropicalsun

Re: Need to vent

I do understand @BlueBay - you write very well - other people may feel just as lost but for their own reasons don't share - you do and it must help

What @BPDSurvivor means is that you can't change how other people behave - so find different people - you hate your job - try to find a different one - bundle up all your courage and do a course

Change isn't easy - try one day at a time - same with cutting ties with your mother - refuse to contact her one day at a time

You can do it - you have a choice of hating your life or changing it and I know it's hard because I did it and I do care

We all do and you have us - no one can scoop you up and hug you so wrap your arms around yourself and cry - and love nd care for yourself

It's 4.00 am and I am not at my literate best but I do care about you - we all do - you need to pick yourself up and stagger on - I hear you
