Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

@BlueBay no this isn't bad. They're your feelings and it's good to acknowledge them. Feeling sorry for yourself is a way of saying that you understand what you're going through and you want the situation in your life to be fixed. So in a way, you mean that you care about yourself, you just aren't saying it that way. I hope this makes sense for you... I agree too, if you need to lie down, just lie down and rest. Try not to exaserbate yourself too much and relax as much as you can. It sounds counter-intuitive but it does help a little.

Re: Need to vent

Hello @BlueBay

What I have often found is that when life seems to get increasingly more difficult for me, I have to turn inwards. When I look inside myself, I find that I am trying to push myself away from a space or position that I am not yet ready to vacate. Consequently, I become aware that I am increasing the internal tension inside me. I am trying to fight both sides of a single battle. It is only when I stop convincing myself that I have to keep fighting, that I slowly become aware that I am actually fighting myself.

With Best wishes

@HenryX

Re: Need to vent

Wow this is a very profound statement áHenryX! I haven't even thought of this perspective before. in saying that, I hope AblueBay is ok. I hope everybody else is ok. I'm just lying here crying and sooking. I want Sunday to hurry up and come around. I want to be less exhausted and less depressed. My compulsive issues are getting worse as I get more depressed and it has taken enough time for the mental health team at the hospital to figure that out. All because they only read a stupid piece of paper without understanding the whole picture of my life, what led up to this point in my life. It's a bloody bullshit system and I want it to change!!!

Re: Need to vent

Exactly @BlueBay. So we just need to keep nagging at our professional support people until they start listening. It's all about paperwork and money at the end of the day. If your paperwork doesn't show people your entire life, then you're apparently fine and just need to take a breath. Yes, this seems great on the surface. It's great to be intelligent and it's great to have some positivity in life, as with all of us. But, what about the broken parts of us? Why do the broken parts of our minds remain unseen, dismissed as just another problem, something someone else should deal with, something that you can just put aside for another day, another discussion. I could rant on and on myself. Yet it seems that not much is being done to change the faults in this system which constantly insists on being helpful while making situations worse and making me struggle and suffer more. It's even sadder when doctors get dismissed as well @BlueBay, @HenryX, @Judi9877, @frog, @Dimity, @TAB, @Meowmy, @LostAngel, @Eve7, @Zoe7, @daddy, @Former-Member, @Fluttershy1, @Wanderer, @Oaktree, @Former-Member, @Peri, @DogMan79, @Jynx, @Former-Member, @StuF, @Bunniekins, and others. At least I know I get support when I come on here. I also love the positive interactions and it's nice to be helpful when other people are down as well.
