Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

yeah @Shaz51 so far since starting about a month ago i have sold 17 bath salts; 2 packs of 3 baby burp cloth; 2 baby blankets and an eye pillow. I now have an order for 2 x 3 baby burp cloths and another friend is calling in tomorrow to place an order as well.

i used the money i received to buy more salts to make another 12 jars of lavender bath salts ready to go in case someone wants to purchase some. so now i really need to sew lots of burp cloths which aren't hard; it's the preparation of cutting all material that takes time. the sewing part is easy.

the profit is there, once i make lots and don't have to keep buying material.

in january i would like to do a workshop of candle making - its $79 for a two hour course and i come home with two candles. apparently there is a huge profit in candle selling.

Re: Need to vent

thank you my sister @Shaz51 i am trying and so far so good.

i visualise a little store online where i can sell my items or even better a local store stocking my items.

i caught up with a friend this morning who suggested i contact a local store who stocks local handmade items. i could see if she is interested in stocking my baby blankets and burp cloths.

that would be amazing if she did!!!

Re: Need to vent

That sounds great @BlueBay !

I've done a candle making and soap making workshop. It was so much fun! I personally wouldn't make them to regularly nor be bothered buying and selling. Hence, I'll leave it to you!

That's why we're all different! Yet the same too in many ways.

Re: Need to vent

I'm nervous today - seeing my psychiatrist this afternoon. i am going to tell her about our financial stressors and how i can't cope living like this. there are a few things i will be talking about with her and i know she will be concerned.

i hate my life right now, the money side of it. which includes my life because it affects our lives so much. you need money to survive, yes the boys are helping out but the money just goes on food, petrol, bills.

i should just go to work - but i am not sure i want to anymore. i am even anxious about getting a new job. the thought of having to talk to other people again.

i have been on my own for 6 months now and the isolation of lockdown has affected me.

i have two outstanding bills to pay from my surgery that i am paying off. the surgeon and anaethests. then i have one or two more xmas vouchers to buy. then food for xmas lunch. i am panicking. i need to calm down, everything is creeping back up again,

todya is a really hard day and it sucks

today sucks and i hate when i have no control on our money

i am losing control, i have no idea what is left unless i look which i hate doing because i get even more anxious
