Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

There is no need to worry about someone being angry with you @BlueBay unless they are in your face and then it's harrassment.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - what other people think of us is none of our business - unless they try and tell us - then we end the conversation - which is easier on the phone than in person

It's just not our problem if people are angry - most likely they are not - perhaps they are wondering what we think of them -

Yes - stuff it - and concentrate on yourself

So enjoy your say with A tomorrow and enjoy your craft and art - I am not good at those things but I surely have things that bring me joy

Today I have been a lot better - I think I was anaemic and I had my blood tested on Wednesday - I asked my doctor what to eat to get iron, any animal products and I have been eating a lot of that - and it is helping - sheesh - I got my groceries delivered on line and I have enough steak for a barbecue - - I portioned it and it's in the freezer

Enjoy as much of your life as you can - I can tell you when I was in hospital people would say "Have a lovely evening" - Yuk - I had no intention - but since - I have liked people saying it because I am feeling better

So - all the best

Re: Need to vent

Hello my dear @BlueBay ,

The lavender salts sound AMAZING!!!! Can you take photo and share it here? I can only imagine how beautiful the scent is!

As for this 'lady'... just for future, people you meet in inpatient units etc, are usually acutely unwell. I personally don't think it wise to develop a friendship, and both parties are in there because they need help. Mentally, I don't think it is healthy. Now of course, people say you 'met people going through the same thing'... which has truths in it, but perhaps in this case, save yourself the stress. When I was very unwell, I latched to people who could empathise with me. But I set the boundary and never handed out my phone number to people. Otherwise I'd have to live with the guilt of ignoring or blocking people.

And what you did when this lady wrote 'help' was absolutely valid in that you reached out to professionals. I wouldn't suggest to do it on your own.

I would have don't the same.... one of the down sides to having BPD is caring toooooo much... to the point of it hurting us!

HUGs,

Re: Need to vent

I totally agree @BPDSurvivor

During my dark years I found the other people in hospital to be so understanding but we were all there for psychiatric help - no mobile phones back then - leaving each other behind was a good strategy

You are pretty wise my friend

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BPDSurvivor

why is it that BPD people care so much.
I find I care soooo much about others snd have since a child.
I know now NOT to exchange numbers in hospital

This was a lesson for me

little A is coming soon and staying the night. I can't wait.

Re: Need to vent

Actually @BlueBay

I wonder about that - that BPD people care so much - perhaps

Many of us are empathetic - maybe some of us have more control over our emotions - or - when we have them we can endure the pressure and learn from it.

I care a lot - but I have learned that there are times when I feel bad about something I have no control over and I have learned - over time - to let it go

Sometimes - when it does affect me more I have to grieve as we all must.

Take heart - learning to control your emotions is hard - this I understand - but although it feels as if your caring is out of control so much - it is common to many and you are not alone

Sending more hugs

Re: Need to vent

Thanks for the photo @BlueBay !

Now I get it!

Also, have you tried growing camomile flowers? I bought some seeds, and grew it. Then I picked the flowers and dried them in the sun so I have fresh camomile to drink. It tastes TOTALLY different to bagged camomile!

As for pwBPD caring so much.... it's just us! Makes us special and unique even though it has its pros and cons.

Im not sure I would care so much for the kids I work with if I didn't have BPD. And then, I wouldn't be as able to do my job.

And that's why you LOVE Little A so much!

And that's why you initially exchanged numbers with 'that lady' lol. As least you've learnt not to, now.

Re: Need to vent

You're right @BPDSurvivor I do care a lot about little A.

sometimes i feel i get 'sucked in' by others. i get 'drawn in' by their stories and want to help so much. but then i want to get out of their dramas because im in too deep (like this lady).

yesterday little A came over, she wasn't feeling too well with a slight cold. I made some home made chicken soup (fixes everything!!) and she ate two bowls of it. she loved it. she then relaxed on the couch and watched some kids xmas movies. she went to sleep and slept for an hour which was good. By the afternoon i was so exhausted that i fell asleep on the couch next to her.

she is so funny, the things she says. last night she lost her teddy (that she left in the pantry) it was time for her to go to bed but she was crying because she lost teddy. shes walking around the house, crying and saying 'teddy where are you'. we searched everywhere, then saw teddy on the floor in the pantry. little A walks in there and says 'oh teddy i thought i lost you i love you so much' pls don't get lost again'. it would have been a big drama had we not found teddy.

today it's looking like a nice day, so we might go to the park. i even thought i might go down to the place where my friends are having breakfast and catch up with them and just have a coffee. that way it's not too expensive. I'll take little A with me so they can see her.

Re: Need to vent

don't know how much more i can take of this

living like this

watching every little dollar we are spending

having to check how much balance we have before i shop or before i get petrol

i can't keep doing this

i know i am doing my craft and have sold a few things

gee it's tough

and i shouldn't complain because there are lots of people out there struggling worse off than me
