Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Hi @BlueBay ,

I’m so glad you are busying yourself in crafty quests!

I have a question stemming from ignorance. What are lavender salts?

Re: Need to vent

Hey @BPDSurvivor lavender salts are just himalayan and epsom salts with lavender buds together with some drops of lavender essential oil. that's it. the fragrance is beautiful. I then put it in jars and label it.

hi everyone @BPDSurvivor @Emelia8 @Owlunar @oceangirl @Shaz51 @HenryX @MDT @Snowie and others

Do you remmeber me telling you about a lady i got stuck talking to for more than 2 hours a while ago. And now i don't want to see her as i need to look after myself?? She was talking all about herself and I couldn't get a word in. Remember??

Anyway, yesterday morning i got a text message saying 'help'. i messaged back asking are you ok. no answer. i message a few hours later, still no ansewr. i called her number, no reply. i had to go to the city to drop off some lavender bath salts so on my way home i called into local police station to see if they could do a welfare check as i was very concerned. she has told me before that she has been in terrible crisis before. she is very delusional lately telling me that her phone and computer is being hacked by people who are getting in to cause harm to her and are going to hurt her. she said she has no privacy anymore they are out to get her.

the police asked questions about her, i gave as much info as i knew. they called her while i was there and no reply. they said they would send a text msg to say it is a welfare check and for her to call them. well in the afternoon she calls me and says that 'these people' are out to get her that they are pretending to be the police because they called her and that she told him that people are hacking her phone. the police asked has she got any evidence and she replied no. they can't do anything. i mentioned to her that perhaps it would be good idea if she went to hospital for a break and a distraction and she said she is fine, it's these people that are ruining her life.

we were going to catch up this morning for coffee. but i messaged her to say i had to babysit and had to cancel the coffee catchup. i just can't do this with her anymore.

but last night at 8pm she starts calling me, 4 times over and over. i didn't answer the calls, she finally left a message to say these poeple are going to ruin her life, she told me her name, her colour of her hair and her dogs name. she said for me to call her. but i didn't and i don't think i will.

is this bad that i won't call her. i really need to watch myself. i can't have her call me and message me at all times of the day and night. thank god she doesn't know where i live. this was a huge lesson for me - i am never giving numbers out at hospitals again.

i really believe she is very unwell and needs help asap. but she believes she is fine and there is not much else i can do.

i need to step away from her. i was thinking last night that if she keeps hassling me i will have to tell her to stop as it's affecting my mental health. and i can't help her because she needs help from a professional.

oh boy, why do i get myself into these troubles

Re: Need to vent

why is it that when i organise a get together with a few friends no one can make it so we cancel; and now someone else has organised one and gee they all can go. well i am not going. i am really annoyed and angry. i can't afford going out for breakfast anyway, but there was 'oh let's change it so we can all be together'. no it was let's just go doesn't matter if i am not there.

yet when they all didn't come to my house for morning coffee i was so upset, the one and only time i tried to do a get together - rejection and abandonment.

it bloody hurts.

well they can have their own breakfast get together - i don't care

Hey @BlueBay
It may be best for you to put up some barriers.
Be gentle about it but you have to be careful for yourself

I have done this in the past with people who were suffering derangements and delusions etc.

Take care my friend

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay

I had a problem similar to yours last year - her calls were few and far between but yeah - she never stopped talking and after two hours while I just listened she crossed the line when I had to hang up and she just kept talking

I hear you - the long story short is that I blocked her number and mailed an card without my address - telling her with the lock-downs - my daughter's health and my own I had to cae for my own responsibilities

It was the best part of a year before she rang again - my phone let me know though she was not connected

I know you care and I can assure you that it's not your job to help her and you couldn't if it was. The info you give indicates paranoia and she needs professional help

I'm sorry - this is hard for you - block her on your phone and care for yourself - as tough as it feels you have been doing better lately

Re: Need to vent

never thought of blocking her number @Owlunar good point

I can't get brought down by this woman, i don't want to listen to her all the time

i just can't

i have my own crap to worry about

and yes, atm i am doing okay, keeping busy with my craft business

Re: Need to vent

Well done @BlueBay

I couldn't listen to my person either and you phone will let you know if she tries to connect - you don't have to connect

About your friendlier people - I know it hurts and it will but it's them - not you

My family moved around when I was young and I went to five different schools in five years - after 7 years after going to school on the other side of the city and working in the city I was friendly with everyone but didn't follow up friends when I moved on - just made new friends

So the people in my life are people I am friendly with but years of disability have isolated me but I really am not bothered

I am okay - I spend hours on the internet studying what interests me. I was one of the nerdy girls at school

I think it's harder for you though - there is no need to waste your energy being angry about other people behaviour - you are working on your own business and art now - much more worthwhile

Re: Need to vent

@Owlunar I've done it!! I blocked her number. But you know me - i am worried that she will be angry with me. but the other part of me says - stuff it, i can't worry about her all the time. i have my own stuff to worry about and do. i need to concentrate on myself.

today, a friend who is going to the breakfast messaged me and wanted to catch up for a coffee, as she knew i wasn't going. so she called in at my place and it was nice to see her. she knew it had to be for financial reasons why i wasn't going.

she also order 2 sets of burp baby cloths for presents for upcoming births of nieces in the new year. she even paid me in advance which was really nice.

i decided to make some leopard print eye pillows with lavender buds and rice and a few drops of lavender oil. they are used when doing yoga or meditation. one side is plain black, the other side leopard print, they look really cute.

little A is coming over tomorrow to stay the night. might make some little muffins, she loves helping me cook. then she loves washing up. if the weather is nice i think it will be a park and play day, sand and beach day and movie day. her mum and partner are going xmas shopping so it;s easier without kids.

how are you today Dec?

hi @MDT @BPDSurvivor @Emelia8 @oceangirl @HenryX @Snowie @Shaz51 hope you are all doing okay today
