Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

@BlueBay Glad you had your walk and had company this morning.I have not long got home from my walk and going to the shops. Since getting home it has started to rain, so I got my walk in just in time. I am heading out this afternoon to get my hair done. Enjoy your dinner tonight.

Re: Need to vent

Hey friend @BlueBay
Sitting with you

My boss is in tears again and I think its because of something I did. But I'll never find out. What I did was probably a bit incompetent but I haven't been corrected for it.
Its so silly how small things upset. When I'm the one who takes medication for mental health right?

I am sitting with you in empathy friend

Re: Need to vent

That's not good @MDT but you really do t know why she's crying???

I need to stop social media. I'm going crazy. I go from one to the other and then back agsin.
I need to stop - but I'm having trouble stopping.
it's all making me angry sad snd teary. So why do I do it - I don't know.
then I think I'll look at houses and then ok maybe look at jobs even though I shouldn't be.
oh my head is going in circles. I know @Owlunar you'll prob say I have a choice. Yes I know I do. But it's more like s as n addiction. An obsessive thing I'm doing.

another headache. Movie finished. I'm going to try and sleep.

@MDT

There's no need to worry about whether something you said or did set your boss off Hamza - it's up to her

If you are really worried you could ask if she's okay - it shows you care and you obviously do - you are a sensitive person

People do tend to get upset when someone cries and that's okay - it's normal - it's late in the day - perhaps check on her tomorrow

Re: Need to vent

Hi everyone

I'm going to take a break from here.

I've upset @Owlunar and it wasn't my intention.
Dec I'm sorry you're frustrated with me that I'm choosing not to self care.
your post isn't on here but I saw it through email.

I need time out to self care and put things in place to help me.

Re: Need to vent

Hey @BlueBay
I hope you're okay and your arvo was OK

I am in the habit of looking at helpful content on Facebook. I have joined self development groups and culture groups. It's beneficial to me. So that way I don't get crowded out with information and damaging content that upsets me.

Re: Need to vent

Thanks @Owlunar
I have no idea how to respond to that behaviour in a professional environment because I have not seen it.
I think she is sensitive and also very boisterous. I think its a wrid time as so much of work was annihilated due to covid

It is a weird time Hamza and if you are not really aware of the professional way to react - then yes - it's confusing for you

Women do tend to cry at times - it must be unsettling for you - and of course it may have nothing to do with you - who knows if she had a phonecall or a memory that caused her tears

You do care about people - it is so obvious - perhaps if you feel like it ask her tomorrow if she is okay -

Otherwise - let it go -

Best thoughts
