Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Idk my friend

Just leave it where it is. Not my job to ensure she is okay. That's her husband's.

Re: Need to vent

Hi everyone @Shaz51 @MDT @Snowie @oceangirl @Anastasia and others reading along -

Last week I saw my psychiatrist. We talked about a few things that were bothering me. We came up wityh a plan for the week. I am to write things to do that will make me feel okay eg. knitting, walking, reading, gardening etc

So by doing these things even for a short time, will eventually make me feel good about myself. I'm not to include the daily housework in this list. But even self hygiene needs to be included and getting out of bed. I have made this plan on paper so i can see it daily and also do 3 things that i can achieve (even if little) and tick them off. I am doing this plan during the week as i am finding that i am very lonely and that's when my head goes to negative self talk.

So today I have done a 30min walk with the dog. Saw my GP who gave me another shot in my hip for the pain and a good chat. My GP filled out another form for Centrelink to exclude me from llooking for work until October. This is a relief for me as I know i am nowhere near ready to go back to work. and i will take as long as it takes.

I am not eating much, my appetite has declined a bit. Not sure why, but i am not having breakfast, just coffee.

I started knitting headbands while in hospital and continuing now. I am looking at knitting quite a few more, some wool and some cotton. all different colours. last year my daughter and I made lots and lots of scrunchies and headbands with bows. I will now use all of them plus the knitted ones to sell. My daughter will set up an insta page and help me put photos up and try to sell them. knitting is keeping me feel calm and i can concentrate on these as they are little and don't take long to finish.

yesterday my youngest son and I made home made wontons. they were amazing!!! so fresh and yum. I've got some wonton wrappers left so i will make some chicken ones for tonight.

hope everyone is well, sorry i haven't been on here lately. needed time away xxxxxoo

Re: Need to vent

A pj day sounds nice to have @BlueBay

Well done for getting out and going for a walk today.

We are sort of in lockdown here. Classed as regional VIC but right on the border of regional and metro. Means the kids still have to do home schooling.

Re: Need to vent

I'm the same @Snowie - we're technically regional but according to Dan we're under Melbourne metropolitan. It's so wrong we are over an hour away from Melbourne.
home schooling must be really hard. How old are your kids? Xxxxx
