Same as you, I am not religious. But I would probably describe myself as somewhat spiritual. I'm sure her spirit lives on, and she would be watching over you. 😇

I want you to know that you can halt this discussion at any time it becomes too painful or potentially harmful for you.
But I also recognise that there is healing to be had in opening up about very painful memories.
