somewhere we can just sit.... talk if you need... offload a worry or two...:check on your friends ...: and feel safe....

it is a side room to the worry room ....

let us know you are here so we can sit with you

please note that there is not always someone here physically.... but we are here virtually so it may take a while for someone to acknowledge you

you are safe and supported here

I know I am strong - you have to be to fight this illness, but I'm running out of strength @Snowie Getting weaker by the day - losing the fight as they say.

I honestly don't know if I'm safe. I just took more anti anxiety med to try and calm dow. My tolerance has built up to it because I take so much. So I just keep taking more and more.

Thank you for sitting with me. 🌸

I won't be calling 000.
Mum was worried about me one morning when she thought I hadn't text her back and called the police for a Welfare Check. Next thing I know I'm being treated disrespectfully, told imhave to go to hospital, where I had two rude officers stand next to me, till they could 'gladly hand' me over to the emercency staff, who left me for 4 hours, then came spoke to me for 10 mins - not even a qualified psychiatrist, and could go home once they sorted out discharge. Another 2 hours later.

To call 000'you basically have to be minutes away from death, or that don't care if it's a mental health case.

I've tried Suicide call back service today and they were no help.

Im struggling to believe there's people out there who can help me before it's too late

Sorry you have had this experience with calling 000 @WIP

Everyone should be treated with kindness and respect.

How about you tell me a little about yourself. What you like doing, what things interest you.

There's not much to tell about myself @Snowie

I don't have much of a life. My nephew and niece live interstate and they used to being me so much joy - now, they don't even know who I am anymore. I have a 10 month old Cavoodle puppy. I have no friends or other family.

I used to enjoy group fitness training, socialising with people I worked with - but I have no job, so that doesn't happen. And I've stacked on so much weight from medication, I've got very little confidence to go the gym. I'm in my mind 40s, so a bit of an oldie now.

Enjoy the AFL.

Have tried diamond painting but my concentration isn't too good, so that's challenging as well as doing things like reading etc.

What hobbies do you have? I'm after ideas

I'm sitting here with you too @WIP .... You sound in very real distress right now. So sorry you have not had any help from any of the crisis lines. Actually I was just talking to another member here, who had a really good experience with a Lifeline counsellor a day or two ago. I guess its often a case of 'luck of the draw'. I get what you are saying about the platitudes which are often said, seemingly by rote, by some counsellors. Makes you think they are not really even listening, just saying the words they are trained to say. Nothing personal or targeted to the individual at all. However, I will say that just because SCBS was not good last time, it does not mean you wont get someone more helpful the next time. I would urge you to try again, either SCBS or Lifeline. I am really concerned about you.

ohhh I have a cavoodle too @WIP

She is a couple of years old now. I love that they love you regardless of who you are. I hope your cavoodle brings you as much hapiness as mine does. She is asleep on my lap at the moment!!

I have two teenage old kids that keep me busy. They are old enough to look after themselves most of the time but still need me to take them to school! School holidays are coming up soon so won't have to get up as early in the morning.

I enjoy the AFL too. Is there a team that you go for?

Concentration does hinder us at times. I really used to like reading but struggle with it too. I have never tried diamond painting, but heard it is good.

I watch tv and love The Big Bang Theory. It is my show I watch when I need to distract myself.

I can understand the putting on weight becasue of meds. I have too. It seems harder to take of the older I get. I am in my 40's too so don't think you are old at all!

Thanks @Snowie

This is my 2nd Cavoodle, he's Ruby coloured, straight hair -' quite unique. Very similar in personality to the my Cavoodle who I lost just last October.. That still hurts everyday. As I don't have children of my own, he was like my 'baby' so it was very traumatic to lose him. I'm welling up again, just thinking about him. Ollie was his name & he was a tri coloured Cavoodle, who almost made it to 14 yo.

Congratulations on having two teenage sons, they mis being you lots of love and joy.

I follow Carlton and have done so since in Mums tummy. Dad was what you'd call a football tragic. Blue is in my blood.

Yes, I'm finding it particularly difficult to move the weight gained from antipsychotics - I often wish there was a magical pill to remove it, just as quickly it appeared!!

Thank you for sitting with me lovely @Emelia8 particularly when you have so much going on yourself.

I am in a very heightened state of distress and it's even harder when I can't get help.

It was my psychologist who suggested SCBS. I only used the chat service, so should try calling them.

Ive found LL to be a bit hit and miss, as they have volunteers on the support lines too.

Please don't be concerned - you've got a lot going on for yourself.

Thank you Emelia 🌸🌺
