Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

No, you’re not a nuisance @WIP

Have you tried SANE helpline. I have found them excellent and caring.

Re: Changing meds

Hi @WIP, I'm so sorry you've felt pushed out of the forums. Please know that wasn't our intention at all. We've been in contact out of concern for your wellbeing and your welfare- at times, breaches also occur, but if you're ever unsure you can refer to the Community Guidelines.

As @Emelia8 has said, you're still welcome here and welcome to post and seek support from your peers as you have been, though if you feel the need to take a break for a little while, that's ok too. I encourage you to do whatever will feel right for you.

TideisTurning 😊

Hi @WIP

You're not a nuisance at all.

There are a lot of people that are happy to be here for you, including myself (when I can).
We all need extra support at times.
Please don't feel that you can't be here.
Sorry you're having terrible struggles.

Hey there @WIP,

So sorry to see the SH thoughts feel scary today. We're always here for you. Yes, it's a good idea to get in touch with a crisis line today. I'll leave the numbers here for you-

Lifeline: 13 11 14
Suicide Call Back Service: 1300 659 467

You take good care of yourself.

Always,

Sphinxly 🐣

Re: Changing meds

Hi @WIP, in case there's any doubt remaining, I just want to further reinforce how very welcome you are here

It's a standard procedure for us to check in with someone when we think they might need a level of support beyond/in addition to what we can offer on the forums- like @Emelia8 pointed out, this does not mean that you are not welcome here- just that it might be good to access other support in addition to the forums. We encourage you to remain here! Especially as there are a lot of amazing people here who care about you 💐

I'm glad to hear you're thinking of trying a support line again - I hope it goes well Take good care today

Re: Changing meds

Are you a tea or coffee drinker @WIP?

I notice @Emelia8 is about by the support button. I know that she loves a cup of tea.
I've had enough coffee for the day, so I'm on to tea now. And unfortunately something else. Wish I had an answer for you.
I'm not always good with words, but I do make a good cuppa and I'm a good listener

Im okay, just been a long morning. Oncology apt was also long and thorough. I now have a plan, and some treatment start dates. 😔
