Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Hey @WIP ,

Thanks for your message. You are quite right - i've had and intensely busy week and running on little sleep. But that's OK because it is Friday.

Mental health wise, I am very well. How did your psychiatrist appointment go on Monday? Are you seeing two different psychiatrists (monday and Wednesday)? Or is one of psychologist?

It's really good that you can think of your mother at this time. I'm sure she will appreciate your thoughts whether you are able to do something for her or not. I certainly hope you have a great day tomorrow. At least you will be blessed with lovely weather!

Looking forward to hear how you go tomorrow.

Hug for you. Hug for Levi.

I'm feeling 'okayish' the past few days, which is a 'good start' as my psychiatrist said on Wednesday.

I must admit the sunnier weather makes things better.

Hi @WIP , I was pleased to read this 🙂

I hope you enjoy the day with your mum today - it's a beautiful day outside 🙂

Hi @NatureLover Thanks for your lovely thoughts. It's one day at a time For me, however this new SSRI seems to be agreeing with me better -

both from both a depression & anxiety point of view. I'm still on my strong anti anxiety tabs, but don't find I'm reaching for the first thing in the morning, which is an encouraging sign. It's an 'early start' as my pdoc said last week. We'll see how I progress.

thanks for thinking of me!

How are you going these days? Better days tham

worse I hope ❤️😊

So pleased to hear this, @WIP Some hope after months of struggle 🙂

I crave the sun so have been out in it quite a bit today, which has been lovely.

I hope you keep getting steady improvement from the meds...

Hi @WIP , just wondering how you're doing?

We're in for a string of sunny days in Melbourne, so I hope that helps your mood...

Hi @NatureLover

Lovely to hear from you. It's always smile when I get a note from you, when you've got so much on your plate.

The weather is definitely a help in lifting my mood. This is week 4 of the new med & I feel it has helped. I'd say I'm feeling a 3 or 4 out of 10, usually a 4. I'd like to get above 5, so at my appt on Wednesday my pdoc & I will discuss increasing the dose again.

Ive got mixed feelings today being Father's Day - the 2nd Father's Day without my dad. Had a big cry before bed last night & didn't sleep well. I know he'd want me not to spend the day wallowing, but I miss him and days like today remind me how much.

How have you been @NatureLover

Aww, that's lovely you have a smile 🙂

I'm so pleased and glad your meds are helping, finally... I also hope you can get above a 5. I'm glad the sunshine help you too 🙂 It certainly is a gorgeous day today.

I'm sorry for your loss, and for today being a hard day for you with Father's Day...am thinking of you, @WIP .

I've had some depression - not severe, so nothing to worry about. It has just meant that I haven't had much to 'give' for a few days...but I still think of everyone here when I'm not posting. I'm feeling much stronger today, thanks 🙂

Re: Changing meds

Hi @WIP ...just wondering how you're doing after the Victorian Premier's announcements on Sunday...I imagine they'll be a blow to you. However, the bubble idea is good, do you think you can utilise it? And also the exercise being extended to 2 hours is also good, I'm relieved at that.

Hope you are OK...
