Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

I told you there'd be another lockdown in Vic!!. @outlander @Anastasia @Zoe7 @Former-Member @Eve @Emelia8

My appt with my pdoc was useless - he just wants to pass me off to psychologist and peer worker. I asked to into hospital & he said there's a long wait list till he gets back fro his leave next week - which he said would probably extended.

Letting him know how bad I am, didn't seem to matter.

I don't matter!
shit, I need to draw on all strength I have left

Re: Changing meds

@WIP I'm really sorry to hear about how your appointment with your pdoc went yesterday. Anyone who wants to go into hospital should be able to without being told they can't because there's a big waiting list. Hopefully something good can happen sooner rather than later. In the meantime, we're here for you 💗

How are you this morning?

Re: Changing meds

Hey @WIP and others,

FUUUR Babies who would be without them?

I think we all feel we don't do enough for them but I have read that we are more likely to remember to give our pets their meds than ourselves.

We are so incredibly hard on ourselves.....

My fur baby is black and shiny and so beautiful to me when I allow myself to cry. She's also a real pain in the arse when she wants a walk or more food 🙂

Re: Changing meds

Hi @Former-Member

I was so very disappointed after the appt yesterday. I am actually thinking of contacting other private hospitals to see if they have any beds available. The problem now is that Victoria is in lockdown, which means as a patient you are

confined to your room. Groups are via zoom,'meals are delivered to your room. Part of the reason for me requesting an admission is because I felt better engaging with ppl in geoups, in the hallways, dining rooms etc. Dan Andrew's won't keep it to a 5 day lockdown, based on his previous decisions & the increase in cases.

Thanks for being here for me. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm only about a 3 this morning. Hardly slept. Have managed to have a crumpet for b'fast, not sure I'm up to a shower & washing my hair, even tho it is feral. I do know it will make me feel better tho. Currently enjoying cuddles with my fur baby x

Re: Changing meds

I am so sorry @WIP but I’m pleased you have Levi.

This is neither fair nor good medical care by your pdoc.

Here for you. 💙🤗💙
