Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Thank you @WIP

You're absolutely right. I can't even begin to put into words the depths I had to dig to come to terms with the med choice so fighting for it goes against every ounce of my being, every cell. If it wasn't doing him justice then I'd walk away and leave it in the too hard basket. I will advocate for him until I take my last breath.

You're a fabulous Mum @Anastasia

However, you've had to hard to get a life saving injection for your boy that any psychiatrist is able to prescribe -BULLSHiiT.

I'm so grateful that you've developed a r'ship with the admin staff. Good Luck my warrior friend

Hi @Anastasia @Zoe7 @Former-Member

Firstly, I apologise for being so selfish y'day.

Secondly, thank you for your listening ear and kind words - they certainly helped. I was at crisis point

Lastly, I hope we can still be friends, as I have a great track record of expressing my feelings in an overwhelming emotional way, that people don't like, and this pushes them away.

I'm still here, feeling very depressed and small. But hey, I made it through another excruciating day, I guess I can do it again.

Appt with pdoc 2mrw and will be asking for a

hospital admission when he's back from leave on the 26th.

In the meantime, I'll have to lick my wounds and ask Mum if I can stay at her place a few days & nights here and there, as I'm obviously not safe on my own. My sister on the other hand, can get stuffed. Her texts just hurt & make my depression worse.

with love & thanks, WIP

Re: Changing meds

Happy to be here for you @WIP It is so difficult when we are struggling so much but in my experience being able to share some of what we are going through can help - getting it out and being supported to do so at the same time has very much helped me in the past so I know how helpful it can be. To be able to listen and provide a soft place for you to land here is the least we can do Hon
