Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Well let's just go with that cause stranger things have happened @WIP. Sisters it is ,💞

Besides who's to say that one day we don't cross paths, maybe we have. I've lived in Melb and we're the same age...

I'm crying too sweetheart, for you and my boy. I just keep getting doors closed in my face for his depot and then I had a call from someone who rang back after I spoke because she said she feels compelled to help us...the Universe is watching us. I've asked it to help your situation. It will. Holding your hand and very much holding hope.

Let's plan some mischief...what about one of those paint and sip nights, how much fun would that be with all of us. Let's just say my artist talents are yet to surface and that my high school art teaches was unimpressed with my creations!

What about you, can you think of something sweetheart?

Thanks @Former-Member

It's been an extremely rough day today, thanks for understanding.

Yes, I need ppl around me & I don't have that. You don't know my background, all I have is my Mum - I have no friends & today has proved what's been going on behind my back with my sister. So, that's why I have no hope. It's a battle I can't fight on my own. I've been critically mentally ill for 3 years -'on my OWN! Personally,'I have no reason to keep going. I was only doing it for my family & now I know it's not worth it.

Re: Changing meds

I'm doing a happy dance for your boy @Anastasia cause he can get his depot. Such wonderful heartwarming news. I'm so happy for the both of you.

Oh, gee wizz. You'd be shocked at the mischief I got up to when I was younger - always had a boyfriend, lots of friends to party with and run a muck. One friend called me a ping pong ball, cause I was always bouncing around meeting,

talking and dancing with new ppl. 🎉🕺🍹🥂🍾

I miss being that person

Haha I can visualise your happy dance and it makes me want to join in with you. Lol 🤣😂 👯‍♂️👯

Do you know you've made me so happy to hear that!!!!

Oh we sound similar. Norty but fun!

You'll get back to being that person L, she's there, just buried with the depression but still there fighting to come out. When you do your going to kick ar$e I can see it.

I have NO doubt that we'd run amok 💞

Re: Changing meds

@Anastasia tell me about the doctor who is going to help with your sons next depot?

No help from his previous pdoc, I gather?

why not?

The whole system isn't on the patients side!

Re: Changing meds

Oh hunny, I've cried a river of tears today over it. I've made so many phone calls. Even the local mental health unit says there's a gap in the system...

I have rung a private hospital three times now because I connected with the nurse in the infusion clinic. Initially she said no don't do it but let me make enquiries. She is going above and beyond because she knows of my desperation and I told her the whole story. Poor woman! I don't know that she'll find someone at the hospital that will/can do it but I do know she will make it happen if she does. Prayers/thoughts/ you name it needed right now.

I don't use the word hate, ever but my boys Dr should be struck off the register and I am so angry that this is happening. I know my boy will not be the last either so I will do whatever is necessary to follow this up the minute he is no longer my boys Dr.

I just have to hope my boy make's that decision.

Re: Changing meds

Concentrate on getting your boy his next injection before or on the due date @Anastasia

Then focus your energy on this imcopetent Dr - that's if you want to. He's let your boy down &

could let others down -'potentially costing a life.

I just can't believe it tbh. My previous life long pdoc, saw me at 8am before I had to go to work & would call pharmacists for help if needed at times.

So, there are those professionals out there. Their job is to improve and save lives - so my opinion is report it when the timing is right for you.

I willlnhope and send wishes your boy gets his medication. His life depends upon it!!

The two professionals are the nurse and her colleague @WIP 🙏
