Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Thank you @Zoe7 & @Anastasia for your care

My next task is to organise my will, just to make sure my nephew & niece get it, not the govt.

Punishment for my sister & Mum is to clean my unit out (I've let things go) and deal with all the admin stuff.
Ive told my pdoc, my psychologist, my new specialist, my sister, my mum that I can't keep going in so much pain every day. My only relief is prns & alcohol. No one that I have in my life listens or cares, and I don't care - I haven't for a long time.
I'm safe for the time being. I see my pdoc on Thursday afternoon. We'll see what happens then. Please don't worry about me - I'm not worth it. My family has proven that.

@WIP I'm so proud of you for still being here. Its not easy fighting through the painful symptoms of depression but you REALLY are doing an amazing job hunny.

Re: Changing meds

Absolutely worried about you @WIP You do matter and you are very much worth it @WIP I am however very worried about your last post - you say you are safe but it also seems like you are making plans. You don't see your pdoc until Thursday so for now could you contact the SANE helpcentre - they really are amazing. Here with you and want to be Hon

Re: Changing meds

Don't worry about me ladies, I am safe for the time being @Anastasia @Zoe7

The recent event of y'day & today have proved to me that I am totally alone. I feel I cant win this battle on my own. I'll talk to my pdoc on Thursday about it all. Maybe an early hospital admission, maybe change in meds again. Atm I don't believe I have the strength to do it on my own. I don't even think I want to do it on my own. My decision was made months ago.

I promise I am safe atm.

I'm so sorry @WIP 😔

Family can be so cruel.

We are your family, sisters seperated at birth 😀 I think we'd have lots of fun getting up to mischief 🤗

Re: Changing meds

Yes, @Anastasia family can suck! Mine is so disfunctional & it all seems to be my fault.

I'd love to be your sister seperated at birth - oh, the mischief we'd get up to!!

geez, on days like today, I wish we could have access to each other's personal contact details.

I appreciate your support more than you can imagine (I'm tearing up again)

Re: Changing meds

@WIP I'm really sorry to hear it sounds like your family weren't there at a time when you needed them I firmly believe, though, that how certain people (mis)treat us doesn't determine our worth as a human being. You are absolutely worth it - and I can see that I'm not the only person here who thinks so 💖

I think it's great that you can see when you don't think you can handle something on your own, and have ideas for how others can provide support. I don't think anyone can handle everything in life on their own! Let alone really hard times. You used the metaphor of winning a battle- to continue from that, battles involve teams or armies, never just one person. To give yourself the best chance, it seems wise to me to have the support of others on your side I hope it will provide you the help and support you need to cope better 💐
