Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Hi @WIP , how are you doing? I've lost track of where you're at. I know you were going to put off your visit to hospital...

Hi @NatureLover

How are you going? Yes, put off hospital admissions due to yucky stomach bug. I see my pdoc about readmission, although I've done well by myself with staying at my anti anxiety med allowance. Depression hasn't been too god though, but I'm battling on.

Re: Changing meds

@WIP sorry about the depression...does it ever lift a bit? Like when watching the footy or walking your dog?

Sounds like you are doing well battling the anxiety and depression 🙂

I'm OK thanks, enjoying the sunny Melbourne weather these 3 days in a row!

Heaps of best wishes 💙

Re: Changing meds

Thanks @NatureLover

I don't call it sunny today, I call it overcast with no rain!!! But. Geez it's cold though. I'm glad you have some sunshine where you are.

The depression rarely lifts Unfortunatley. There's been a couple of days this week in pjs with no shower, just staying it bed. It's pretty bad - so many battles. I have a pdoc appt this week and will be discussing the depression. Last hospital admission he put me on a new AD, but I don't thinks it's doing much and told him so last appt. I asked if something could be added to it. So I suspect he'll be thinking on it.

ohh, there's some sunshine just come through 🌞

Re: Changing meds

Haha - yes, true - no sunshine yet! but I'm assured by the weather report that it's coming 😄 🌞

I'm sorry your depression was bad enough to stay in bed all day twice this week 😞

I hope your pdoc has an idea of an extra med for you. 💙

Re: Changing meds

Hi @WIP ,

Yes, although cold, the sun is now defiant shining though. I'm sitting in the sun at the moment, then later, I'll be going out for lunch.

I love the sunshine.

Just like depression, there ARE glimpses and hopes for the sunshine to eventually shine through.

Press on my dear battler!

Hi gorgeous @BPDSurvivor Thanks for dropping by, always so lovely to hear from you.

Yes, you are right, there ARE glimpses and hopes for the sunshine to eventually shine through. That's why I keep persisting. I reflect on happier times in my life and keeping working to get back there.

Have a great time out at lunch & enjoy your afternoon xx
