Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Hi @Former-Member, apologies, I didn't mean that at all 💐

We wanted to offer you a private space to talk more about how you're feeling, in case you didn't feel comfortable going into specifics publicly.

We're very interested to hear feedback on how welcoming or not welcoming people are finding the forums to be- this way we can get a better idea of how we could improve or better manage the forums.

It's up to you whether or not you choose to reach out to us on this

Re: Changing meds

Hi lovely lady @Anastasia

How are you?

I had DBT class today, so am feeling totally wiped out this afternoon. That I woke 6 time during the night wouldn't be helping things either.

How's you boy going? I hope he's improving. Is he home with you yet?

I'm petrified of going into hospital, but it has to be done. I'm not too sure about this new pdoc, as his view of me is tainted by the previous one I was seeing. It my last chance I guess, so have to give it a go.

love L & Levi 💞🦋🐾

Re: Changing meds

Hi beautiful,

I bet you are. I hope that you have taken some valuable tools with you, it sure sounds as you have, well done you ✔️❣️

If you'd asked me yesterday I would have said yes but today has been a downward spiral. I've lost count of the calls and messages. End of April at this stage.

I wouldn't overthink what prev pdoc may have said. I'm sure the new one will make his own mind up L. Try to clear your thoughts and tell yourself it's a clean slate for both of you. In my experience around pdocs is that they won't take on board others diagnoses etc. My boy has had four and the last one wasn't interested in what we had to say about prev diagnoses, quite matter of fact about it actually.

I know you've got this beautiful. You just need to believe and trust in the process. Love you x
