Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Thank you @Anastasia

she's just trying to help, but I get upset with her - she's no spring chicken and I guess my expectations are too high.

honestly, I'm jealous she went and visited my sister and nephew &'niece. I just wasn't well enough to go also as we'd planned.. I wish I was.

My life is full of disappointments.
Mum does her best, but I test her patience and it's not fair of me to do so at her age. I feel so guilty.

she was so relaxed and happy when retuning from her trip, I just felt more depressed and of a burden.
she'd be so better without me and able to enjoy her grandkids, something I haven't been able to give her 😢

I wish I could make you believe that is the furthest thing from the truth for her @WIP

My heart aches today and those words...

Please L, please I beg you hear me...

My boy tried to end his life two years ago yesterday and the pain today is as raw as it was then. Please never do that. The future will be bright for you. I will walk with you for as long as it takes, that is my solemn promise to you from as deep as my soul goes. Reaching through the screen hugging you tight. Please hear me 🙏

If you need Lifeline please reach out L 🙏

Re: Changing meds

Hey @WIP , I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling like you're burdensome to your Mum. I hope you can try to remind yourself that your anxiety is good at making things seem worse than the truth, and your Mum probably doesn't see it that way!

Sitting with you, I hope things get a little easier for you tonight

Re: Changing meds

I'm so sorry it is your boys anniversary - I really am. And are so very sorry that my words may upset you. @Anastasia

I'll hang in there, I just can't do it to my Mum. She's the only reason I'm still here.
I have a GP appt Mon, and psychologist appt Tuesday, so have to at least give that a go.

Its just so hard, the tentacles of this illness wrap themselves so deep & strong around me every day.

your support and caring words means so very much to me - thank you. Thank you so very much. You're there when I need you the most, you just know. I wish I knew you irl to express my gratitude and give you a big hug!! XXX

Re: Changing meds

It's ok @WIP it's been a difficult day and I can't bear the thought of losing anyone I love.

I'm going to go and shower and pull myself together. It's nothing you've said I've been walking the tightrope all day. I'm still with you 100% I promise. I just need to take a break xoxo
