Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Don't be sorry hun. I wish I was there to hug you. Throwing socks, that sounds interesting @outlander @WIP

Does it help?

Re: Changing meds

it uses some of the anxious energy @Anastasia basically helps to wear you out.. you literally just throw rolled up socks at the wall as hard as you can. doesnt do any damage but can help with the building energy.
works pretty good for anger too

Re: Changing meds

I am sitting with you right now @WIP and wishing there was something I could do to help. I can understand your reluctance to be admitted to hospital under your old pdoc. If you do not trust him, there are going to be problems. Even if you are going in for a reason you agree with, re detox. And your lack of trust sounds valid, given your dependence on AAs occurred under his watch. I wish there was some other way. Does either your GP or psych have any solutions I wonder?

Sitting with you, just dont have a lot to give right now.

Sending love. And cuddle for Levi.

Holly had all her stitches removed this arvo. Vet is happy with how its going. And the seroma (fluid buildup around wound) has reduced a lot in the last 2 days. She seems much more comfy now, the dear little thing. 🐶

I like the throwing socks idea @outlander

Might have to go and give it a go.

@Anastasia @Bow Thank you for sitting with me.

im going to lay down and listen to some gentle music - I just need to stop crying.

Thanks for being here with me @Emelia8 I know how tough things are for you atm. I'm so relieved to hear that little Holly is recovering well. That's great news.

Thanks @outlander I do too

I'm so distraught, I can't think straight and just don't know how much more of this pain I can take.

Re: Changing meds

it is tough @WIP i totally understand
its hard to think when your so anxious
maybe try the socks, hot shower or even just splash some water on your face (it can be a good reset button sort of thing)
