Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

I hads to laught at your last post.

I went off with the fairies a few months agio ... was a garden fairy .... sometimes thats easier than people and real life ... needed the respite and distraction.

What kind of fairy do you like being @WIP

Re: Changing meds

Sounds good to me @WIP

But for me it will need to wait until after my oncologist apt. Going there now. Afterwards I can leave adulthood behind, and be a fairy 🌺

Re: Changing meds

@Appleblossom I'm glad I made you laugh 😀

I'd like to be an attractive, you, intuitive fairy who floats from family grouping to another. Maybe floating to new groups of friends I could make.
Just being safe and fluttering around from here to there or wherever I felt like going would be enough for me. I'm so isolated atm, so exposure would be good.

Tell me about your garden fairy experience - only if you want to!?!!

so good to see you @Appleblossom

Re: Changing meds

Okay @WIP ... I can be a fairy now ... or Peter Pan and Wendy ... and just fly off into a world of fantasy. I think @Anastasia is around now too, and perhaps she could use a break from emotional overload right now. 💓

Hi @Appleblossom @TAB ... good to see you both here today. 👍🌸

Right now I really really feel the need to fly off somewhere and never come back. 😢

So I may need some of you to come fly with me, before dragging me back to reality afterwards.

Hi Everyone! @Emelia8 @WIP @Appleblossom @TAB @Anastasia

Let's just all be fairies... Tinkerbell?

@WIP , I don't think DBT or anything therapy that works is supposed to be easy. Take big huge breaths and breathe your way through your DBT session tomorrow. The fact that it is difficult means something is working. As I said, I would love to be able to complete a DBT course, but it simply isn't a priority at the moment.

All the best, my friend!

I fluttered in probably too many family groupings in early childhood, I dont know how else to be. Watching the new Heidi movie ... it was good for me to be ale to laugh about the garden fairy thing, cos for a few months it was getting dangerously my whole identity. I wanted to become and dissolve ....

I did a few years of Earth science in early 20s, and then in later life, gardening. When Covid hit I began paving my own garden block, something put off for 18 years .... still not finished, but 75% done.

I continued caring for my grief garden, then started a physio garden and then a guerilla garden in close walkiong distance. So at one time I had 4 gardens to care for. Still do, but most of the establishment work is done so the load is lower. It was good for me to be outside, off the computer, thinking and planning small scale plantings etc. No money spent, all propagation. Physio's garden was in thanks to finding good worker. Later learned that someone had burned their garden out, so that is why it was needed, maybe it was my way of balancing the cosmos. Anyway I wanted them to know I was not snobby or taking NDIS for granted, but deeply appreciative. There are somethings money cannot buy.

But it became all consuming and my physio was worrying saying to do less. Human life is still chaotic and outside of my control.... too many family groupings for what goes around, comes around, to make sense ....

I said it in frustration once to my son and to a nurse during recent breakdown ....that I had turned into a garden fairy.
