Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Thanks beautiful, I know I do, just not juggling as well as I have in the past. I'm sorry. I'm only a tag away and please believe me when I tell you I care and I believe in you L 🙏🌸💖

Re: Changing meds

Good for you @TAB You're very courageous!

Keep going, you'll make it. You've managed to kick a smoking habit in the past, so you got this - no problems.

My only suggestion would be to call your GP

If you need to. Don't look at it as a 'sponsor' situation,'look at it as support you will most likely need. Shit, if I had a medical professional calling me to 'check in' and then also offer for you to call if needed - I'd be so happy & grateful.

You got this @TAB

Re: Changing meds

well I guess they are worried about health implications of withdrawals, plus they are aware/remembered that I live on my own. @WIP but yes, very lucky. Been going to same clinic for years(they bulk bill), circumstances lead me to seeing nearly every dr there on a regular basis at one stage, one after the other. this is the 4th, who was a protege of sorts of the 1st one 4 years ago. Empathy wins, and maybe I am a good judge. But yes I am Lucky , thanks

Re: Changing meds

You are very lucky indeed @TAB Im having all sorts of trouble finding decent & helpful medical professionals. I think I've found a good GP ($40 out of pocket for 10 min session tho), but as I'm up in the air regarding a pdoc, I'm going to ask if she'll provide me scripts without always having a consultation.

I live alone too & it scares me. I had a nasty fall in the middle of the night about a month ago & it could have been much worse. It's now got me thinking even further of how alone I am.

Your GP clinic and thei support sounds awesome. You've got the right attitude to - I wish you all the best for today and the coming days.

Go @TAB s. - 😸

Re: Changing meds

I'm ok @TAB

Just lots on my plate with my boy, work etc. Not juggling very well. Think age has caught up and bit stressed/emotional and can't string a sentence together by the time I'm home each night. Hope you're doing ok. Not easy, used to smoke and it took me countless attempts and years to kick the habit. Good luck buddy 👍🍀

Re: Changing meds

thats not good re fall @WIP um took me years to find this doctor and one had years before that ok interstate was head and shoulders above any other doctor I've had. ok I stumbled onto good one had one off visit with once in Perth but was nowhere near where I usually lived

most of the time am ok on my own. sometimes get scared in middle of night, and there is good reason to be around here. anyhoo .. Thanks again again best wishes to you too
