Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Hi @WIP 💞

I'm not good today, thanks for asking. Toxic family lurking in background. Trying to avoid any news about what's going on. Funeral is next week. Feel like I can't move forward until it's over.
Sorry to hear you're not going well yourself.
I hope that you find the strength to move forward. I understand it's not easy.
Are you off the Ap's now, or still weaning off?

Hi to anyone else here 👋💞

Hi @Former-Member ,

Im here... but don't know for how long because I'm absolutely exhausted. Due to no one's fault but my own, I hardly slept last night.

Im sorry to hear that things are so tough at the moment for both you and @WIP .

I don't think I've got much to offer right now except that I'm sitting with you.

Hugs,

BPDSurvivor

@WIP ,

You're also very right in saying you can't survive on your own.

Humans are not meant to be alone. We are social beings, hence we need each other here.

Thsnks for being here @WIP - I sincerely mean it.

Re: Changing meds

I've been in crisis all day long - didn't help that I had a few drinks last night.

The crisis lines aren't helpful and I'm far too hesitant to go to an emergency room after what happened 2 weeks ago.

ive tried contacting my psychologist, but she did say she doesn't take calls or emails outside of appt times.

I can't get into my GP till next Friday.

im going to run out of meds by then and my old psychiatrist communicated he wouldn't write me scripts, I need to go to the GP.

I don't have the strength to keep going, and after knock back after knock back why keep trying.

Mum and I aren't talking, she's so frustrated and doesn't know what to do. I don't know what to do either.

I can't calm down, I can't sleep, I'm not eating.

I don't know what to do.

Now VIC is in lockdown again - more anxiety.

Re: Changing meds

Anyone I go to for help lets me down @Bow

I can't keep living like this, so deeply miserable that it aches and that anxious and sad I cry all day long. I'm so very very lonely, with no where to turn anymore. I've worn my Mum out with my illness. If she's worn out, how do you think I feel living it day in day out.

I can't do this on my own. The helplines don't help, and I'm not going back to emergency room to be asked 'what are you doing here, you're not an emergency and you aren't sick'.

Im sorry I shouldn't bothered you by posting. I haven't slept and can't wait for it to get dark so I can take some meds and hopefully sleep

Re: Changing meds

Sitting with you @WIP and please don't be sorry, I truly wish there was more that I could do, but please know that I am here. I know that that ache feels unbearable at the moment and that it feels like it won't ever go away, but I trust and believe that there will be a day soon where you will feel lighter... I'm holding onto that for myself too.
