Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Hi @WIP and sorry I havent been around this afternoon.

Sorry to hear that the situation with your anti anxiety meds running out before you see the new psychiatrist, has you in more of a panic. Not a good situation obviously. It could be worth asking your GP if she would give you a script to cover you until you see the new pdoc. She may be able to provide just enough to last until the day. It may save panic from setting in, and keep you as stable as possible in the lead up to seeing the new pdoc.

That's what I'm going to have to do - ask my new GP at my appointment on Thursday and hope that she obliges.

Ive taken more than my daily allowance for a few days now, well it must be more than a few days to run out so quickly. I just need the extra to try and calm down.

Im a mess and feel no one will help me

Thanks for being here for me, as always. I know you're both having challenging weekends yourself, so very much appreciate your time and posts.

I have no one, except the members on this forum.

Mum won't answer my phone calls, as she knows I've been crying all day and she can't deal with it anymore.

Re: Changing meds

I really feel for you @WIP and hope that once you get back on track again, you will begin to form lasting friendships again. Its never easy to feel alone. Although even people who have others in their lives often also feel very alone. I can be in a room full of people for example ... and I feel terribly alone and often afraid. So honestly, even those people who have others in their lives, can often feel very much alone. So I think you will find that most people can relate to what you feel about being alone.

Your Mum must be feeling so helpless ... I know she loves you very much, but probably feels that she is unable to do anything to help you. Can you imagine what that may feel like? I'm sorry she is not answering your calls, but she has probably reached her emotional limits and needs to regroup. It does not mean she doesnt care, but it does mean that she is not currently coping with her beloved daughters distress.

Are you getting lots of cuddles with beautiful Levi? I hope so. I've been getting lots of love from my Holly. The little sweetheart. Oh dear ... I sure hope she will be okay with this surgery on Friday. 😔🐶💔

How are you going @Anastasia ... have you made some progress this afternoon with being ready for tomorrow? Is it an early departure for you, or not until middle of the morning?

Emelia 💓

Re: Changing meds

Thank you for your kind and wise words @Emelia8

I'm sure Mum has reached her emotional limit, she's been getting very close over the past few weeks. When's she's here visiting and I'm upset, she generally just looks at me with nothing to say, cause she knows she can't help.

You are hopeful that I will get back on track one day. At this point in time, and for awhile now, I don't believe I will get better and be able to lead a fulfilling life. My new psychologist will hopefully help me with this.

Its Levi's 1st birthday today, so we've been giving each other lots of hugs and he's had extra treats.

I'll be thinking of you all week in the lead up to Holly's op on Friday. I'm sure she will be fine. She is loved so very much, she'll be here with you for awhile longer yet.

I'm not in a good headspace Em. My boy has hidden in his room under the doona pretty much all day. He is going to miss me and it's weighing like a pendulum drum on me at the moment 😭 pains in my chest pretty extreme
