Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Hi @Anastasia

I'm so sorry that you aren't in a good headspace atm, and your son isn't coping well with you going away this week.
He'll have a good support network around him while you're gone I assume, and you can check in with him each day.

I'm really sorry for dumping my crap on you when you've had so much going on yourself today - I didn't realise.

I hope things settle tonight and you can get away as planned.

🤗💞🤗

Hi @outlander

I see my psychologist on Tuesday and new psychiatrist next Monday.

I hope to stay safe. I just wish to sleep forever, as the days are excruciating.

Dont worry about me - I'll battle through.

I won't go back to an ED, as the psychiatrist at the Alfred made it very clear, being in a mental crisis where you can't calm down, isn't an emergency 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Re: Changing meds

I have been out most of the afternoon with friends and for the first time in almost a year I really engaged with the conversations and laughed without having that awful feeling in the pit of my soul that I didn't belong anymore on this earth.

We went to a cafe with live music and we just had fun laughing over silly things. I am telling you this @WIP because I thought that this would never happen for me again and it has...amazing. I spent months during the past year thinking of nothing other than how I could end my life.

I may feel that way again but today has been good. I have hope for you too, my friend with your new MH team and hoping beyond all hope that you never have to experience what happened the other night again.

My heart breaks as I understand your pain at present but please don't give up as there would be many who would notice you weren't here.

Lots of love for a better tomorrow

Hugs @WIP I'm so sorry 😞🤗🙏💖

I'm not in a good headspace Em. My boy has hidden in his room under the doona pretty much all day. He is going to miss me and it's weighing like a pendulum drum on me at the moment 😭 pains in my chest pretty extreme

@Emelia8

@Anastasia I am really sorry that you are not in a good headspace today. Of course your Boy will miss you, I expect he relies on you a lot. But he also needs to try to be a little more independent when he can. He has good support with his support worker coming in daily for him, so he will be kept a good eye on and also kept busy with activities etc while you're away. Probably once his support worker arrives, he will be fine, I'm sure. And he will no doubt be looking forward to your return in a weeks time, after you having had a lovely time away.

It is concerning that you have been having the pains in your chest again, and worse than before. Definitely keep an eye on that ... please! And I hope you get some word during the week about the results of your heart tests. Not too soon though .. because that may indicate a not-so-good result. I'm sorry all this has come at a time where you should be looking forward to a lovely time away with family.

@WIP ... a big happy birthday cuddle for Levi. And a big hug for you also. 🤗🐶💞

Thank you @BPDSurvivor and hi @Eve7 @outlander 🌸
