Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

That's great @Eve7

I'm so happy for you - you've done so well!

Once upon a time, I always wanted to get into recruitment.

Enhoy the rest of your day

Re: Changing meds

Hi @Former-Member

I thought I booked in for a callback between 10am & 1pm. Maybe I'll hear from them soon, although I'm quite distressed, so probably won't be able to talk 😢

Re: Changing meds

@WIP I'm glad to hear you booked in a call I hope you'll get to hear from them sooner rather than later

That's understandable - maybe you can let them know when you answer that you're really distressed and have been crying a lot today, so you'd appreciate if they can be patient with you and still stay with you to help? Or if you think that even that would be too much, I might be able to pass the message on to our consellors, so whoever calls you can be aware ahead of time?

Re: Changing meds

If you could please pass the message on for me @Former-Member - that would be good.

I'm not sure I'll be able to talk though.

I'm not in a good place at all. Sorry.

Re: Changing meds

Don't worry about the call @Former-Member

I'm too distressed to talk. I can't think straight. I can't do this. Sorry

Re: Changing meds

No need to apologise @WIP Even though you don't think you'd be able to talk, it sounds like it would be useful to have support. Would you be open to giving an online chat service a go? Lifeline has a chat and text service, as well as us here at SANE, and the Suicide Callback Service (if relevant) too.

There's also of course all the members here in the Forums too who might be around for some support Though if you feel you're at a point of crisis, crisis support is beyond the scope of the Forums so please try reaching out to crisis services like Lifeline for the level of support they can offer

Re: Changing meds

I've just tried both LL & Sane chat service and they aren't available @Former-Member

I've tried SCBS chat service before when in a state like this and they say they can't help me over chat and I need to call them.

Re: Changing meds

@WIP I'm sorry to hear they weren't free! I'd encourage you to keep trying as hopefully they'd become available at certain points - when I just checked now SANE's online chat was free. Please keep trying
