Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Gp appt was ok. She was kind and understanding. Really wants my meds reviewed by a pdoc and was hoping that the comm mh would do it.

comm mh not overly helpful. I vented a few times about my frustration with them. They have a team meeting at some point this afternoon and will discuss whether they will see me further. Otherwise I'll have to go else where. Just sucks that I am left hanging... especially with the weekend ahead of me.

ive spoken to my gp twice since, she called comm mh too. Will see what happens.

@WIP hows you day going hon?

That's so good that your GP is looking out for you @Bow
If you don't hear back from comm MH, can't your GP adjust your meds until you get into them, or to another psychiatrist? Or is she reserved to do that?

I really hope you hear back before the weekend.

Im not doing too good, but thanks for asking.

In tears 10 mins after I woke up and have only just been able to stop. Taking too many anti anxiety meds, but that's all that calms me down.

think my gp would prefer a pdoc do it to begin with.

im sorry today has not be good for you @WIP and the tears have continued, i know that must be exhausting to sit with that day in and day out.

Yes, it's very exhausting and a horrible way to live @Bow

Re: Changing meds

I've just spent 4-5 hours in a public emergency department (uncontrollably crying the entire time) to finally be seen been by someone from the psych team to tell me, I'm not an emergency, why did you come here? There's plenty of ppl out there who are very sick and need our help. You're not an emergency. You need to go back and see your psychiatrist.

I went there after visiting a private hospital ER, who directed me to this particular emergency department, because they have a dedicated mental health team.

I've been crying uncontrollably since 9am this morning & went there for a sedative.

If I didn't feel suicidal, I most certainly do now. I am worthless in the eyes of a medical professional who is supposed to care.

The Mental Health system is so broken and so am I now after this massive kick in the guts.

I can't do this anymore. I try to seek out help and get turned away or given the run around for months.

@Anastasia @outlander @Former-Member @Emelia8 @Bow @Eve7 @BPDSurvivor @Snowie

I don't think I'll survive this treatment I've just experienced.
