Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Little story I think you'll like...

Last week my colleagues manager and I had WIP catch ups over teams each morning to discuss where I was at with the work for his department. I grinned each time it popped up and had you there in spirit. I'm certain you helped me get through the balancing act xxx

Re: Changing meds

What a gorgeous little story, that has brought a smile to my face first thing in the morning -

thank you @Anastasia

Wishing you all the best for a positive day. Hope the Dr. goes well & aim glad you aren't in as much pain as you were over the w/e

Inkust braved looking at myself in the mirror and gave myself a fright - this bruising is really significant. It's going to be a long couple of weeks waiting for it to fade. I'll be wearing sunglasses inside everywhere I go for awhile. Not that I go anywhere other than medical appts.

Morning @Bow

How are you going?

Low key day for me today. Tomorrow is the big day, 'breaking up' with my psychiatrist & then attending my DBT course. But I'm not sure if I'll go. I hit my head late last week and have significant bruising around my nose and eyes - I'm quite the sight, I can assure you. I'm going to feel

very uncomfortable around people, and I could very well make people in the course feel uncomfortable. Unfortunatley, makeup doesn't do anything to help.

I do hope you're alright. Have a good day.

Hi @WIP ,

I hope you make it to your DBT session. Remember, you are there for yourself, not others. If I were in your situation, to get the most out of the session, I would tell everyone at the beginning of the session why you are bruised- get it out of the way so you can enjoy the session.

I remember when I had to give presentations. If I told the people at the beginning how I was feeling, it would stop people making assumptions and i would instantaneously feel like a load was off my shoulders.

This type of work was done in my MBT course.

I’ve been following on about your little fall earlier this week @WIP sounds very painful and frustrating. I’m glad you got it checked by the Dr though.

I’m sorry that it may impact on you attending DBT today though. Thinking of you as you have your final appointment with your pdoc today.

trying to be ok today. Dropping meds off at my gp this morning for her to keep before going to my psych appointment. First one for the year. Then home to load the car and then we are away down the coast for the rest of the week with friends. Feeling anxious about the time away.

Re: Changing meds

There a bruise cream. I don't think I'm allowed to mention names but it's fabulous for bringing out the bruising and healing quickly. It starts with h. From the chemist @WIP

I'm glad you liked my story. It's funny I find myself looking at people sometimes wondering are you someone I know, do you do that?

I love @Emelia8 's little pic. I can picture us all with wings. I'm sure I was a bird in a previous life...for now I'll have to settle for 🧚‍♀️

Funny my favourite colour is blue 💙

Re: Changing meds

Thank you @BPDSurvivor

I have left a message for the instructor to hopefully give me a call back today to discuss the situation and my concern. I think we will have to wear masks during the session, so that will help at least cover some of the bruising and swelling. I've still got black eyes.

I had no idea that a head injury could cause so much bruising!!! I'm convinced I hit the bridge of my nose, as it's sore to touch and bruised also - not black/purple, but a lovely shade of brown.

I hope you are well my friend. Have a good day and thanks for dropping by.
