Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

No, I'm a bit worried about it @Eve7 ,'but not sire they can do much for a fractured nose - maybe just tape it and wait for it to heal.
i look just awful and feel so embarrassed and stupid. I don't want to go to my last pdoc appt (bit I need a script for my anti anxiety meds),

nor do I want to go to my DBT class lookong

Re: Changing meds

After my doctors appointment, I'm coming home and just spending the afternoon listening to podcasts, with cool packs on my face.

Ive put makeup on to go to the doctor and it honestly doesn't make any noticeable difference. The bruises are such a dark purple colour and cover quite a lot of my inner eye lid and down the side of my nose. @Eve7

I look a bit like this https://images.app.goo.gl/WNskn7Hst8MexeaM7

I don't know if the link of the photo will work, sorry.

Re: Changing meds

The link worked @WIP

I am sorry this has happened just as you were starting on your recovery.

It’s similar to me fracturing my wrist on my second day back at work. That really set me back but it’s almost better now so I’m sure your face will soon be as beautiful as ever.

Re: Changing meds

I feel so sad @Eve7

I know it will heal, just like your wrist has.

Im just so nervous about my final pdoc appt & him asking questions etc. Then looking so awful at group.

I hate life at the moment, I'm back to thinking bad things, such as what's the point. I just keep getting knocked down.

Re: Changing meds

Sounds tough @WIP. Hearing the nerves and anxiety- understandable. It sounds like the kinds of thoughts you've been having might be a bit distressing- if it starts feeling like too much, please don't hesitate to reach out for support- there's Lifeline (13 11 14) if you feel like you might need immediate support or you can book a call or chat with a counsellor online through Sane's Helpcentre if you just feel like chatting with someone more one to one. Though of course, you're more than welcome to keep reaching out for support here as needed.

Re: Changing meds

I understand you feeling like you do @WIP as I know it’s hard when we start to see some hope to feel like it’s being taken away every time.

I assure you there is still hope and this is a bump and not the “camel’s back”.

Rest easy today until you see your gp and just do one thing at a time.

I am here with you 🤗
