Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

That is such good news @WIP and I am so happy for you. This is the start of a new life for you. How good it is to know someone is listening and really caring.

My psych appointment went well too and I was able to show him all the lovely affirming statements you. @Anastasia @Emelia8 had said about me. He then challenged me as to why I don’t believe them 😢 so we came up with some things to do to change my thinking.

Thank you so much for sharing your good news.

That's really good news for you too @Eve7 !!

I'm so glad you showed your psych the affirming statements we all think about you. I'm not surprised he then challenged your thinking as to why you don't believe them, but super happy you worked together to come up with some ways to challenge your thinking.
You've had a positive day too 🤗

It makes the world of difference to be listened to and felt cared about.

Re: Changing meds

Its windy here too today @Eve7 ... not blowing a gale like where you are, but windy nonetheless.

We had 70mms of rain for the 24 hours up to 9am this morning. And more showers again today. So its very wet.

The wind springing up will be good to try to dry things out a bit.

Some fantastic news from both @WIP and @Eve7 today has made me very happy. Thanks lovely people. 💕😊

Waves to @Anastasia ... hope work is going well. Hi also to @Former-Member ... hope you are okay.

It's a beautiful day here today. I felt so good after my GP appt, that I took Levi to the doggie park - he really enjoyed himself @Eve7

I hope the wind settles down so you can go for your walk.

Oh no @Eve7

I went for a walk in my lunch break. Umbrella turned inside out a few times. Will cross fingers I can do another tonight

Re: Changing meds

Yes, that makes sense, about slowly stopping the ap @WIP 💞

Look forward to hearing how the dbt course goes. I haven't done the course, but I am interested in knowing more about it and whether to do it myself. I still have a long way to go in recovery.

Windy and wet here too @Eve7 I'm really glad your appointment went well. 💖

Really exhausted @Anastasia 💞 Thanks for asking.
So uptight lately. How are you going today?

Hi to you too @Emelia8 💞
