Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

He only sees outpatients once a week on Wednesday and is very difficilt to get into, so I booked fortnightly in advance - and if I don't need to see him I don't @Emelia8

Because I go through so many anti anxiety tablets, he generally wants to see me before giving another script. My GP won't prescribe them -plus she's $40 out of pocket for a 10 minute visit. I need a new GP too. But while I was trying to find a new psychologist, it was too difficult for me to find another psychiatrist (well I did try and got push back) and GP.
It's all too hard Em. I'm not strong enough. My mind is a mess, I'm just so overwhelmed trying to get through the day.

Re: Changing meds

I'd run it by your psychologist tomorrow and see if she has any suggestions @WIP . Sounds like you need a whole new team. You've done so well in finding a worthwhile psychologist ... major progress. The rest doesnt have to happen immediately. One step at a time. Get through to tomorrow ... talk to your psychologist .. and go from there. I feel sure she will have some helpful suggestions for you. Put your trust in her.

Emelia 😊💞👍

Re: Changing meds

Thank you @Emelia8 - you make a lot of sense.

Im not sure if I'll be stable enough to safely make

my way to the appt, so have asked my Mum to take me and to attend the appt also - to talk about about to pros and cons of admisssion.

I'm making notes to talk to her, I hope she's able to help. I'm so scared of an admission though, precious experiences have been very tough

Re: Changing meds

That's good you're writing things down to ask the psychologist tomorrow @WIP

Seeing as you're feeling overwhelmed, try not to think about it all, just get through today and talk things through with your psychologist. 🌷

You're welcome. I'm glad I can help, even if it's just a little bit. @WIP I know what it feels like, struggling alone. It's not nice. 🥰

It sounds as though you are well prepared for your psych session tomorrow @WIP 👍💓

I hope the appointment goes really well and that you come out of it with a good plan for your next steps ahead.

You will find a way through ... I know it.

Emelia 😊

Re: Changing meds

Thanks Em @Emelia8 I'm sort of prepared.

Mum and I aren't talking - she doesn't know what to do with me. I collapsed on the floor before just bawling and she just looked at me. I've climbed into bed crying. She's in the lounge.
Maybe it's not a good idea she joins the appointment.

I'm a burden to the only two people in my life, and they've both shown that today. My sister in a text - and my Mum not comforting me when I need it most. At least she took Levi for a walk for me.

Itd be better for both of them that I wasn't here - i just cause them anxiety and worry, and in turn they ignore me!
