Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Haha @WIP the same can be said for your Carlton bl00d lol. Nothing beats the AFL in Melbourne. Went to Richmond years ago pub beforehand was electric 🐯

Re: Changing meds

Oh Em, I didn't mean to upset you. I'm sorry! @Emelia8

You are so gentle and compassionate with your responses, you do give me hope that one day I may be ok. You've been through more than any of us & still provide advice, guidance and hope.

I just wanted you to hear that from me - cause your words have helped me in times of crisis, when I could have done something stupid!

Re: Changing meds

Yes thanks @WIP ... definitely feel better with clean hair. I get an itchy head if I dont wash my hair at least every 3 days.

As for the rest of me ... a "lick and a promise" as my dear mum would have said, will suffice for today.

As a Swans supporter, I am prepared to overlook the fact you @WIP and @Anastasia are Blues and Tigers supporters.😄

I too saw the Tigers in Thailand some years back. Hiya @Eve7 🌷

Re: Changing meds

Hehe @Emelia8

I have and do back the Swannies when the Tiges are not playing them. Especially back in the day with Warwick Capper 😳 lol! @WIP

I was SA born and bred so the Swans were a later addition in life so to speak.

Glad you feel better with sparkling clean hair Em. I get my greys covered tomorrow, I have to remember to tell her not to darken the overall colour. I am happy with it at the moment it's just the tiger stripe down the centre that needs covering.

Re: Changing meds

I was born with blue bl00d, my dear friend @Anastasia Thru & thru.

My dad was a Carlton tragic & it was just ingrained in me since birth ( I was such a disappointment to him that I wasn't a boy. A boy who could follow on the tradition of being a Carlton tragic). I tried my best, but was never really good enough - story of my life with my Dad!!

The day my nephew was born, Dad signed him up as a Carlton member and put on the list for MCC m'ship. Charlie couldn't really give a toss about AFL,'thanks to his dad (who I'm sure has steered him away on purpose).

Anyway, I try to honour Dads devotion to the CFC - a full paying member since 1966. Saw every final

Carlton played in Melbourne (that's after it turned fromVFL to AFL), went to every Grand final since he was 11 yo ( he was 76 when he passed) Yep,'Dad loved Carlton more than us.
