Changing meds

Changing meds

Hi. I battled MDD & acute anxiety nearly all of my adult life. I've been on numerous different SSRIs, SRNIs, antipsychotics, tried rTMS & ECT. Am addicted to a benzo for my anxiety.

I am in the process of swapping out from a SRNI to a MAOI and the wash out period is hell. I really don't think I'm going to make it. This is the darkest place I have ever been.
I have no family support, honestly no friends, not able to work & are completely isolated.

i don't feel my medical team actually care much anymore, they are overwhelmed by new clients because of covid.

i hardly sleep, but the last thing in my mind before I do, is how much I want to die. It's the first thought of the day when I wake up.

what if this new medication doesn't work either??

Re: Changing meds

Oh, how lovely you have Miss 3 with you today @Eve7 im sure she will provide some of the medicine you need. I hope the lemonade that Daddy bought has helped a bit. 🤞🤗

I miss my nephew & neice so much it hurts!

I'm sort of ok..... had a 2 hour call with Mum; which helped a bit.

i hope your little poppet starts to filll better soon - big hugs from Nanna will help heaps! xx

Re: Changing meds

The lemonade has stayed down @WIP and she’s a lot brighter now so hopefully no one else gets it.

It must be hard with your niece and nephew so far away. All my nieces and nephews are interstate too so I know what that’s like. Mine are all teenagers and twenties now and I miss hearing all their daily doings although we’re all on Facebook.

I suppose you FaceTime and send letters to stay in touch. At least we can keep in touch that way. Kids are great to be around as they are such fun and so uncomplicated.

I hope your afternoon is ok.

Re: Changing meds

Hello L, back again,

Massage was lovely although I feel quite ill and headachey now from it. I have it for my lymphatic system as it is sluggish so helps to rid toxins. I also had a work meeting just after which has not had a very positive result on my head space. I want to go to one of those rooms where they smash plates right now, anyway back to you...

I am so pleased you finally got to have your psychologist appt F2F on Monday and that it was good. I especially loved how at the end of the session, she showed me her notes to see if I agreed with what she'd taken down, that is wonderful and extremely validating! I love it.

I also love that you have the 'bones of a plan' moving forward - it sounds to me like you achieved a great deal with her, that makes me very happy.

Having the right professionals in place makes the world of difference speaking from experience of not having the right ones in place 🙂

I am sorry about your sister, shame but it is her loss not yours and not one that you should carry. Still not fair but bl00d does not necessarily make family, if that makes sense?

I never think of your messages as babble, I love being kept up to date and appreciate it very much.

Also hello to you @Eve7 , it is lovely you have the company of your Grandaughter today. I hope it is a lovely day for you.

Need to run, I can feel the anxiety rising around what I need to get done before finishing today,

Love and hugs to both of you xoxo

Hi beautiful @Eve7

I wish I could say I keep in touch with my nephew & niece via FB or Zoom,'bit my sister doesn't allow it - so we are entering stranger territory, which breaks my heart, it really does. I'm glad you have contact with yours no matter how old they are.

Are you going ok at home, I hope so.

love & hugs,

Dear @Anastasia

I really hope the rest of your day improves for you and that you start to reap the benefit of that massage.

Take care and take it easy precious lady.

I am really sorry it’s like that for you @WIP

Are you able to send letters via snail mail?

My sister doesn’t cope with me either so I don’t tell her much. She does look after Mum which is a big plus.

My nephew posted an amazing pic of lightning a couple of days ago taken from the cockpit (he’s a pilot) so I’m lucky to see things like that on fb.

Im ok at home but my yard is under water as the pool overflowed during the weekend storm. It’s such a mess 😫

Miss 3 has just been sick again so I’d better go.

❤️💚❤️

Hi @Anastasia

How'd the remainder of your afternoon y'day pan out? I hope the massage helped. Do you have to have them regularly to help your lymphatic system? Good excuse for a massage, I say. But I suppose having issues with your lymphatic system isn't a nice trade off. Does it cause much trouble

to your day to day health?

Oh @Anastasia Is love to spend time in a room where I can just smash plates etc. I think it was a Law & Order SVU episode once, where in NYC, they have rooms just like that. You get to smash up all sorts of stuff - I remember thinking at the time, what a great idea for stress release.

Yeah, I've spent the whole year putting up with a crappy medical team, and I'm happy to have found this lady. We just 'click' and I enjoy her approach to therapy. Although she did warn me, she can be pretty full on when she feels I'm ready for it. But, at least she sees the potential in me, she understands the old me and is determined to get me back there!

I had a nightmare about my sister last night, so her latest choice not to engage with me until Christmas at least, has had a deep impact. I don't know what to do there. It's not my fault I'm unwell and don't behave or communicate always as she expects. But she has this control over my emotions and she knows it. She knows what buttons to push to hurt me and does it with a smile on her face sometimes I reckon.

How is work going for you this time of year? Does

ot get busier,or are you in a continuous state of

busy. I do hope your anxiety levels are alright this morning and don't peak during the day.

thanks for letting me babble again 😉

Rest of the day was non eventful. Trouble from slight lymphatic system varies depending on what actions I take. If I walk, eat well, take meds, have massage, then pain is kept at bay mostly with the exception of nights when I need to take pain relief at times. If I don't then I can be in a lot of pain. Dr has suggested Lupus. Confident it is just a sluggish lymphatic system so focussing on what I can to get it moving. Obviously I'll revisit lupus scenario if down the track I'm still battling itnd no results.

Yes. I believe they exist. I have put yesterday's meeting out of my head as much as I can mostly as I can't do anything to change the outcome and will just ride the storm in January. I can't worry about it. Whatever will be willl be 🎶🎵 Kay sera sera lol

That is so good. I love that you have found her ❣️💞❤️

No it is absolutely not your fault. It's a shame she does not have the empathy and compassion needed. Something lacking in her emotional "system" certainly not something you can change. I'm so sorry as I can imagine this would hurt very much. My boys father is the same with him and my boy holds very deep emotional wounds around it. Hopefully now that you have a good therapist she will help you work around your emotions as to how you react to your sister. That is what my boys therapist is doing with him. I guess the word is acceptance around things you can't control.

Work is crazy. I am tying up all loose ends around the facility and organising the Christmas functions, there are three. My boss likes to party. I do like to be busy but it's a little much.

thanks for letting me babble again 😉

Not babbling hun. Love to catch up with you @WIP
