I am struggling at the moment

I am struggling at the moment

I don't know why I am really writing this. There seems to be part of me which says that I need to pull my head in and do this alone and another part who so desperately wants to reach out for help. I am really struggling. I'm not coping at all. For much of the day I've thought about all the reasons to die and there are hundreds. There is also one reason to live that keeps me here. I can't let down my oldest son and cut out his trip of a lifetime. He would have to come home and pick up all the pieces for everyone. I keep telling myself I have to hold on until he comes back and then I can let go but this keeps me waiting to die not choosing to live. I have a cold sore that now goes from the corner of my eye the length of my nose and it's slowly creeping across my face from stress. It started on Wednesday and each morning I wake to find more of my face engulfed by it. I am so tired. I am so sorry to write this and I know I'm so lucky to have friends on here that care. I don't want anyone to have to deal with this as it is so depressing so I started this thread as a way of saying that I'm not well when writing here and please don't feel obliged to read or respond.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

Glad to hear you are feeling better

I really like your personal mantra and thanks for sharing that with me

I thought D3 would have had a lot of nurturing and support to overcome this, and to be able to heal and grow. I think I have a lot to learn and I am not proud of myself atm. I have never felt so much shame as I do now. I feel like I have completely shut down. I think noone will understand.

I am sorry your daughter was so young when your Mum passed away, I too lost three of my grandparents when I was around three to four years old. I am not sure how I learnt to have compassion but I did, when I was growing up I had to teach myself basically everything. I didn't have much guidance but I did have a wonderful Pop. He said to me not long before he passed away that I was the best thing that happen to him and I look back now and I think no you were the best thing that happen to me.

I am not as fluent with my writing as you F&H . I have heard that is important for children to know about their heritage and where they have came from. I can see how much you love your mum and how much you miss her and I can see why you wish D3 would have know your mum.

I am determine to heal and I am going to move beyond my negative feelings. I know I have made mistakes in the past and I do admit when I am in the wrong. I know I am not perfect. I think carrying around injustices can weigh heavily on someones shoulders. Bittness can have a really negative impact on someones life. I have always tried to focus on the postive and try to replace something negative with something postive. I am going to continue to do this and use this tool like you said because it is quite powerful and healing too.

How many thread do you follow F&H lol. I hope you have been able to catch up. I need to get some sleep. I am thinking another hospital stay is needed I don't think I can do this alone.

PS I am bit tired and I might get back to you over the next few days.

OMG @oceangirl .... I have just gone back through the thread and found your post that I missed before ... I can't believe your GP said that to you ... not without at least rounding it out .....

We don't necessarily connect with everyone, and everyone doesn't have to be our best friend, but there is absolutely no excuse for bullying someone, no good reason at all, and not liking them would have to be the poorest reason of all .... !

I'm gobsmacked .... honestly .... 😳😦😞 .... there is something called "common decency" which means treating everyone with respect, personal tastes and differences aside ....

I would love to share our story with you, but I am conscious of not triggering you.

Hugs @oceangirl .... and healing thoughts for you ....

🤗💕

Re: I am struggling at the moment

Thank you for your message @Faith-and-Hope. I felt validated and I can't tell you how much that means to me. I would love to hear your story but of course when you are ready.

I did edit my post last night probably before you read it. I think I should have left the original post up- it was not much I edited or removed from my post. I guess I have a lot of anxiety around being judged or sharing things about myself with someone and they use that information to hold over your head or twist information to suit themselves- I am hoping this makes sense.

My response from my GP left me godsmacked too because she had been my Dr for so long and I guess I felt very hurt by her comment/remark. In a way I felt betrayed by her because I had been so loyal to her. I know Drs don't always know what to say to people in this instance she would have been better off not saying anything and just listen to me.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

I agree @oceangirl .....

But sometimes too embarrassment can make someone blurt out something rather bluntly and inappropriately. As you said, she has been your gp for a long time .... hopefully she will revisit that moment in her mind's eye and apologise for it next time she sees you .....

I hope so. Maybe how she handled it won't sit comfortably with her either, but only time will tell .....

I kept the rest of D3's story in my iPad .... will post it for you when I am back at home. Out walking at the mo .... yay .... 😊

Re: I am struggling at the moment

I am glad to hear you are out and about @Faith-and-Hope Is the weather quite mild???

I would never of thought of that re she was embarrassed. But she did just blurt it out with not much thought. Over the past 16 yrs she has been my GP and she continued seeing me when I lived in NTH Qld and posted anything I needed by post to me. She has always given me at least 30mins or longer consultations.

It is just past 10pm here. I did accept my offer today at uni, I am crazy. I did have the zoo today and it was so hot. I have a migraine and just took something for it, I hope I don't get a repeat of the migraine I had last year. I did get the cream you recommended though.

🤗❤️💕

Yes, the weather is mild today, but I think a change is coming, by the gathering clouds ....

All the best with your course @oceangirl ..... it might be the best distraction and salve for you. Just take the baby steps through each class's, assignment, etc to see them done. By the time you look up you will be at the end of term with one unit under your belt.

Hi @oceangirl

You must have felt it was the right thing to study. They often say it is good to go with your strengths.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

You might be having some rain tomorrow @Faith-and-Hope

I am thinking of biting the bullet and doing three courses and then I will be one semester down, the introduction to psychology I will get credit for. The remaining four courses for the year I will take over two semesters and that way my first year complete.

I didn't accept my offer until late this afternoon and I though this is what I want to do and this is me and I think I can do a good job at this and hopefully when I finish I can help people with MI and hopefully be able to run day programs in exercise.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

Hi @oceangirl

I didn't read what your doctor said to you - I might have time to read back on your thread later - but it is hard when someone we have known for a long time bites us - if it helps there could have been a dozen reasons and none of them anything to do with you - but what ever it was - I am sorry that happened

My studies kept me going through the darkest years of my life and they still serve me - my private studies continue - I am interested in the history of the European Royal Families atm - strange people some of them and all busy intermarrying - but I can't talk - or throw stones as they say - there are two pairs of first cousins marrying in my family tree - and we are not royalty.

Still - maybe that accounts for the weird behaviour of some people in the family tree

It seems a long time since I spoke with you - and I am glad you were back if you were away - the site is so big now that people could pass each other easily just by being on different threads or even on the same one but not at the same time

And I love your new pic as well - I love the ocean too

All the best and I hope you don't get a run of migraine - that can be really tough
