Feeling Lonely

Feeling Lonely

I'm 25 years old and I'm living in a small country town away from my family for work purposes. I have lived here for a while now and have fitted into the community and made some great friends.

For some reason I am feeling extremely lonely at the moment. I am having trouble sleeping and I think it may be because of my loneliness. I feel silly because I am very lucky as I have a great family who I miss everyday.

I am not in a relationship and have been single for a very long time. My confidence continues to be battered as I feel that I have not been good enough for men that I have being involved with and I am now asking myself what is wrong with me?

Just looking for someone to chat to.

What is self pity?

Hi @Former-Member ....

Good question ❣

Self-pity is a constant fault-finding with yourself and your circumstances that steals joy ....

It is a negative state of mind that tries to invade your sense of happiness, but it can be challenged by positive thoughts and not be allowed to rest for long anywhere in your life ....

It can be very challenging, but positive affirmations, exactly like we are building here, is the way to keep sweeping it out the door ❣

It's like dust. You just have to keep moving it till you remove it ....

The first step is probabaly recognising it, then developing action plans to deal with it .... something you are already doing, my girl ....

❤️🌷❤️

If anyone reading this is in brisbane, there is an organisation called Richmond Fellowship - they are not religous, but they have been a huge help. Whilst i am severly depressed, they call each day since i left the ward at prince charles.

Re: Feeling Lonely

It has been very helpful thank you. Today I am feeling confused. I had been talking to someone and last night I realised they have blocked me from communicating with them. I am not sure why as we were getting along very well and they seemed like a genuine person. Once again my confidence shattered because I think what did I do wrong? When really it could have nothing to do with that. But when you have no explanation it's hard not to blame yourself.

Re: Feeling Lonely

@supportneeded please dont blame yourself, which i know from experience is easier said than done. My situation is somewhat similar and ive found a little group of people in same situation and its been valuable.

Wake up in morning and fill your day with things you love doing. I have help from the local acute mental team here who have called me to find out what i plan on doing so im not just sitting here thinking the worst

You cant control the actions of others, and if they have in fact blocked you then its their loss.

We move forward bu coming from
