The chai was good @Emelia8 I’d love to have one with you. I’ll be in Sydney on Thursday and now I note that you’ll be leaving then. I would have fronted up at every hospital otherwise with your chai Hard to stay anonymous sometimes but anonymous we are.

Are you flying South? I will be flying North. Watch out for an air ambulance heading north out of Bankstown airport Sydney. I dont think I will have much of a view as will be lying down. But if I can, I will watch for planes from the North.

No idea what time yet. Of course if there is an emergency, I will become excess baggage and get turfed. No guarantees yet, but should happen. ✈

I'm doing OK thanks, still sorting out my wardrobe of clothes. Made some mistakes in online shopping so have to send some clothes back. But I'm happy with my new, much brighter and feminine clothes.

Yes I was disappointed my trf was delayed @NatureLover , but I have no say in the matter.

Pain now, compared to pre surgery is different.

Nerve pain, thankfully, has greatly reduced thanks to a lot of decompression work by the surgeon. More was needed than he was expecting, so he told me straight after the op. Not everything shows up on scans, especially nerve related issues. Been told to expect some residual nerve pain for a while yet tho, due to the prolonged and severe compression of the nerves. It takes them a while to recover. I will remain on my nerve pain meds for a couple of months and then slowly wean off them, all going well.

The back/bone pain is worse than before (for now) however, because of the extent of the "hardware" changes they have made. Eg cranking up and creating spaces between vertebrae, putting in cages with bone graft, adding rods and screws to secure everything. So it has changed the whole alignment of my spine, and this affects everything from head to toe. So it will take time, but at least I know this pain is mostly temporary and will reduce as my body adjusts.

Mind you, I'm never going to be like new, or my old self, again. But my aim is to be finally take my life off hold, and learn to live again. Something I really havent been able to do in over two years now.

There was my cancer diagnosis and surgery in November two years ago. My radiation therapy finished in Feb last year. Hubby died two months later. I injured my back the month after that. I was in agony for 8-9 months until I had spine surgery in Feb this year. That provided some relief and got me to when I could get in for more extensive surgery now. And of course I lost my dear little Holly in Feb this year too.

So its been two really shitty years! 😫 Things can only go up from here, right?

I had a manicure today so I just need to check I can squeeze into my dress and I’ll be ready for Friday’s grand affair…a family wedding…complete with in laws, outlaws, crazy Aunts and wayward cousins at a very posh venue. So pleased my pearls will still fit me.
