Re: Please help
absolutely keep a low profile with your mum, stay where you are if you can and avoid any confrontation with your mum. Sometimes we have to be our own best friend. Keep asking for help never give up

Hi Hope32 Sweetheart
I believe that most of us 'play' with our meds when it seems like the only thing to do. Somehow I am trying to prove that meds are better than the real me too. I am also giving it a shot at the moment too. I am still uncertain what I will do - Is the med free miserable or out of control version better or do I accept the 'nobody home' version and go on trying to fake it.
From your words - you are really struggling and could certainly do with a supportive break. Just time out to be and care for you as much as you are able. I get the fact that acute MH understands however there is a much better option - YPARC (18-25) or APARC (25+)
Perhaps you might like to think about all the free services available through community health centres. As you have mentioned in your post it's vital to try and look after you. With the PDoc please hold onto the fact that this is only one opinion, one treatment option.
Listen to your body and mind
Take care of you
Lotsa Luv

Hi @Former-Member
It really does seem that everything is working against you - and this seems so unfair
I don't know what else to suggest - as you know I have been through the other side of this with my son and found it incredibly hard to get through to people how serious all of this wass - and I know I did not fail him but I feel as if I did
But what about you?
You haven't done anything to deserve this - at least - nothing that I can see - perhaps other people see you as "difficult" - and that's their opinion - nothng you can do about that - I have mentioned already that you might be one of those people who seem to end up in people's "too hard" basket - not really seeing the real "you"
I wish I could help you - I do care and I do understand your position - but this is an on-line community and we have very little go on
I don't know if you have tried Life Line - 13 11 14 - or any other telephone help line that can give you contacts. I know there used to be something called Action Centre in Melbourne - I don't know if it is still available
This is Sunday - and it is a very hard time to get the kind of help you need - are you still staying at your mother's house or are you away from home?
Monday morning is a much better time to start looking for an alternative - maybe you need to go to a public hospital for help - that is through the ED -
I understand you can't see past this - and you need to - I am sure other's will be along and might have some ideas
Don't give up - even if others give up on you - there is no need to give up on yourself - your value has yet to be realised

Re: Please help
No one can seem to find an answer for MI
It will take a lifetime for anyone to understand it.
The government will never understand. The stigma still there. Have you seen a very important high up politician still in office with any kind of MI? No, even if they did they would choose not to disclose it as it would ring in doubt from the public.
Just being an open ear means a lot.
Like I said. I know you have had your extreme unanswered battles and listening to another person is very kind.
Thank you.

Re: Please help
Thanks @Former-Member - I have indeed had my battles - and know the hopelessness you must feel at times
And I do hear what you are saying - I understand - I wish I could do more
All the best with your psychologist tomorrow - I hope s/he is really listening to you and can help in some way
Not enough is done for young people - I think that the authorities find a lot of young people a pain telling themselves that things "cannot be that bad" and "that young person has to get their act together"
And if you could get your act together you would not need to be told
So - I know you are seeing your psychologist tomorrow - is there anything else you can do? I can't imagine what - it seems to me you have turned every stone without success
But I will have you in mind - it is really hard - this I do understand - and yes - I am listening

Re: Please help
Hallo @Former-Member
It is really important that you can call your profile HOPE when you are in this situation. It says something important about your spirit.
Keep holding onto that thought .. idea ... as you work your way into a better situation.
I am glad you have decided about changing away from the pill pusher. Yes we also need to be careful not to come off cold turkey when we are not in a secure situation.
Keep trying different doctors ... sometimes it takes a while and it seems we have to prove ourselves to them ... that we are not troublemakers or after the drugs etc etc ... make a double appointment and start to explain your situation ... when they are looking at their watch and winding up ... if they are any good they will suggest you come back in a month for another double ... see if you can manage this til you get a sense of respect and rapport.
They have their protocols and my story takes forever ... anyway that is the way I have managed to change into my new clinic after my last doc got sick ... be patient but persist in long term conviction for your right to get good health care ... the situation with MI is that it is long term ... and the varieties of patients' presentation makes it likely that the doctor might need a little time to get to know you.
I hope you get back to cuddling your dog or walking him or her ... animals are so important to us.
\take care
