I wake up every morning feeling the same. No amount of sleep changes how I feel right now. I have been like this for almost 6 months. I have a long term history of depression. And suffering a severe relapse. My psychiatrist of almost 6 years not caring at all or finding me more of therapy. Only pushing drugs onto me. I have found help myself without him. I plan on getting rid of him. I was put on a psychologist waiting list for a long time but have an appointment on Monday. I took myself off the some medication because I can't express how I feel and just feel numb when I'm on them. He has me on a brutal combination. I'm back on them again. But I'm struggling every day. The family In my life are sick of me and my moods, they can't cope and are getting sick themselves from stress. I don't know what to do. I am very lost. my head feels muddled up every minute of the day. I am trying my best but it's not enough to keep me here. I'm scared of the future. I know I need to take control of my own health but I was blind to this doctor and he has ruined my life.

Re: Please help

I can relate to some of what you say hope, I too have many of these problems, though I do not self harm I do to an extent understand it though, doctors and all such things can make things tougher sometimes I do most things to improve on my own as in a mental illness situation I see most accessible services to be akin to prostitution, you pay they care kinda thing and that doesn't work for me nor does it help with my trust issues. I have even started to consider trying to start an anxiety/depression support group though not sure that would work with my stress and then there is the possibility I could be the only one that turns up which wouldn't be to helpful either. Not sure if I am being helpful or not just thought I would drop in and say I am here if you need

Re: Please help

@Redraw I feel so isolated. I havent self harmed in months but am using sleep and bed as a form of escape. I have stopped everything. I have pushed human beings away because of this. And am reminded daily. The only friend still in contact had something very severe happen in her life, I've known her for a long time before that too. and one family member who has experienced depression is in another state. But it's hard becuase everyone has their own life and family to look after and can't be there all the time. Your idea sounds amazing. *puts hand up* the only people who understand are those who know pain.

Re: Please help

I do know isolated, my family is scattered around the state, I have one brother who isn't far away but I rarely see him same with friends I have one but we only see each other on the odd occasion I sleep a lot to I tend to sleep most of the day away but it doesn't help, as for my idea well especially where I am support groups and things are very limited but I don't know if I could start one I have good ideas but that's generally where things end, and being seasonal here it could be no one no one 100 people I am just a bit at a loss I try to escape a bit into my drawing but that's only so good it has to work and mistakes cause problems too can stop me for months. I got nowhere to go and no when it's not easy

Re: Please help

Hi @MG1990 I am so sorry to hear you lost your mum... I can only imagine that's been such a difficult experience to go through after feeling like you were really starting to get somewhere? Can I ask when did you lose your mum? It sounds like you don't have much support around you? I hope you can feel welcome and among friends here.

Re: Please help

@MG1990 I lost someone close to me almost 3 years ago. I am still dealing with the grief. Losing someone who was like a mother figure, I can understand. It doesnt go away. I hope speaking out and these forums can help you to feel less isolated.

Re: Please help

Hi @MG1990

I am sorry that you lost the woman who was like a mother to you - it will take time to get over that

And yes - you can write that here - supporting people through grief is one reason this website is here

I have just passed the 30th anniversary of my son's death and the people here have been very supportive - really wonderful

And I hope that you can find some consolation - having someone who must have replaced your mother in some way die must have been an almost double loss - really hard to overcome - no need to push it - just let it come to pass - and it will - maybe often - but it will get easier

Re: Please help

I confronted my psychiatrist a few days ago about the medication I had been and still on of a night. And he ultimately admitted what I was on was not supposed to be long term with my diagnoses - yet I have been on them long term. Asked why no other therapy had been pushed for my recovery. He blamed cost. Which is BS because he knows the money I had been paying out for him. Told him how rude the reffering doctor was to me.

"he wouldn't be offended" if I found a new psychartrist. i feel overwhelmed and want to speak to a service but they have let me down in the past so I'm reluctant to. Has anyone else been through this? Will it get better? I feel so isolated no matter how many times people say that they are there. I have nobody because it's easy for people to leave when things get hard and I " push people away". it's nearly a year since I broke my ankles and suffered a relapse. This system is a piece of shit.

Re: Please help

Going to have a look at the motivation topics on the forum. The feeling of never getting better plagues my mind which turns into a vicious cycle. Yes I can recognise it but just feel angry and stuck. Angry for a lot of reasons. But most of it is towards society.
