Re: I've been labelled as treatment resistant schizophrenic

Re: I've been labelled as treatment resistant schizophrenic

@Zoe7 I guess what I'm trying to say is I have done my rounds to make sure what I have heard in person just is backed up by others during phone calls to to certain organisations across Australia. I also have phone recordings of what happened in the mental health centre where I was treated. I also spoke to medical doctors in person that came full forth with their experiences of the system they working every day. So this isn't just a few people this is now many. I was shocked and couldn't believe what I was hearing and if I heard this from someone else for the first time I probably wouldn't believe it either. My frustration for the broken system we have today can sometimes be hard eating for people and I don't like to put people down, no one is perfect. I just have a hard time believing in two week short term study or a two month so called term study to say they are just better than placebo when ppl take them longer than that. And also placebo can be great the studies have also shown this. But then the medication starts to flatten out and you have to take more. Dr's mainly look at the 2 month study because they have been designed by drug companies that make money to publish them. Unfortunately they don't publish the ones that didn't work out because it looks better on paper. The proper long term studies get hidden in PubMed and out side of the journals and they are not good. That's where the disease kicks in. Many Dr's don't look at all the data because they don't have the time, it's the sad truth.

Re: I've been labelled as treatment resistant schizophrenic

Hi @Zoe7 and @krs - just wanted to jump in and clarify - back when you first asked for the posts to be moved into a new thread, we don't do it very often and mods and CMs looked into it and thought it would involve moving every individal post manually over to the new thread which would take a really long time which is why they said it was not possible.

They kept looking into it and looked up the functionality and realised they could move a post and it's replies after-all which is what they did here, and chose to move from after the last introduction discussion in that thread.

Hope that makes sense and you understand. Any Qs please email us

@MDT I only believe is something when they have found that it is actually true, wouldn't you? Otherwise wouldn't that be a false belief? Since they have yet to find anything wrong why should I think there is? I don't listen to the media we all know how bad that can be

Thank you @s-jay You have adequately clarified some of it in a respectful way and I appreciate that.

Hey @MDT yep, thanks for flagging it. We are reading along and have just removed a post from this thread.

Re: I've been labelled as treatment resistant schizophrenic

@krs it is far from 'out there' to because I am one of those people. I never take medication unless I have evaluated some of the most current research. I need to know not only the chemistry of a medicine but also the half life, side effects and potential effects from long term use.

I'm not going to argue all day long about how long medication takes to come onto the market. Nor will I share with you and others my views on the fda. But everyone reads and interprets information differently, and forms opinions and biases from this. You seem to be unable to let anyone have an opinion at all, on any matter of it doesn't match your own expectations. That is very harsh and unfair.

I said nothing about the DSM5 except that is a guide only written by an organisation. I have no personal opinion on the manual, nor do I wish to share that with you only to be shot down.

You seem to presume to know me and judge me before I've even said anything. That I don't appreciate at all. I have actually looked very closely at the DSM5, and I have reviewed it considerably with the post graduate program that I'm undertaking. Please be very with your words that you choose. If you want to have a healthy and robust discussion or debate I am interested and willing to engage. But there must be mutual respect, tolerance and validation. You are showing none of those qualities or characteristics at this time.

@Former-Member @Former-Member

There is still a mix of two different threads here by the looks of it. It's really confusing.

Whilst I understand that what the moderators had to do in order to move this thread it has now lost some of it's context, and I feel excluded from the discussion. I appreciate it was not an easy decision in regards to maintaining continuity or the factor of time in moving individual posts. But I don't feel my voice is heard here and that doesn't impress me.

@Sans911 Agree 💕

Re: I've been labelled as treatment resistant schizophrenic

@Sans911 Obviously in a very little if you think it takes that long to make it out into the market. Do you realise when they say a side effect is rare it's not as rare as they say? Or do you believe in what you read from the drug company sites? How can you trust people that get sued for not being honest? And includes the FDA. So you don't want to share your opinion yet you start having a discussion with me. Sounds like you're starting to close up.
