Bad time of year

Bad time of year

I'm going to Canerra for a few days soon - and that's a good thing

I have the anniversary of my son's death on the 16th - now I really feel it - I have been better this year - maybe because of being here - I have felt useful and people have been helpful - really great

I left the website I used to be in - it was a huge part of my life - and even making the decision to leave was hard - I know I did the right thing - but it was a horrible experience

It was my birthday yesterday - I had a good time with my dd and gd but I am not sure about the food - I have felt a bit off colour - I didn't eat that much -

I know better than to eat much right now though - some toast will be fine today

Generally I feel really low - and tired - and I think I am grieving more than one thing or two -

I don't know whether to post this - I think that it's a good idea - I don't mind reading what other people write - I actually feel better myself to know I am not alone - and I know this will pass

But yes - the weather is atrocious here - I want to go out - but unless I feel better tummy-wise - no - I will stay here - where if my tummy feels worse I have the appropriate conveniences handy

We all feel weird and tired and unhappy and unfulfilled at times

Hi Evil Child and Decadian (hope I spelt your name correct)

Thank you both for your replies.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you, I am new to this, so have to get my daughter to help me.

Its nice having people to talk to and I appreciate your comments and advice.

I feel for you both, without sounding religious, my prayers are with you.

Best wishes from Shorty45.

P.S. You may not hear from me very often, at least till I learn what I am doing, but I will try.

Hi @Shorty45

I am very glad to receive your message - and I hope you will keep in touch

It's good that your daughter could help you will the website - you will quickly get used to it

I have been alone for over 25 years - from divorce which was my idea - and yet I know what you have to adapt to is being alone - and I wish you the best with that

Hi Decadian,

Thank you for you words of wisdom.

I really feel for you, I see divorce as being a type of death, the same as someone actually dying, I'm sure the hurt and loneliness would be the same.

It's been two years since my husband died and the pain I feel daily is awful, I can only try to imagine what it must be like to be alone for all the years you have been on your own.

Try to take care of yourself and know that there are people like me who care for you.

Re: Bad time of year

Hi @Shorty45

That is very kind and thoughtful - it is a kind of death because I was sincere when I made my wedding vows before God - but life does not turn out Fairy Tale Weddings very often - and sometimes I wonder if it had not been for our son if my ex and I would have lived out a long marriage without knowing how unhappy we were

But I have to say that the years since my divorce have been easier in many ways than the years before - but I had to overcome loneliness as would everyone - but it has been easier because I have had the freedom to fulfill my own life - which I have -

Losing someone to death is hard - harder - I know the feeling of how permanent it is - after my son died that realisation was terrible - and I would wake up in the middle of the night and get up and hardly made it to the door so I could grab the door as I fell down when my knees folded

So yes - it is a very hard time to get through - and it differs - people's circumstances change - but talking about it helps - and it's isn't as if your husband never existed - he did - and he is still part of your life and will be while you live.

I am glad you have found us - I am sure there are other people with many and varied life-stories here - and some will have something helpful for you

And I do wish you the best which might be hard - and thanks again for your thoughts
