Hello @Shaz51 Hope you're okay with the latest news - and that the good days outnumber the bad.

I guess there'll be more planning to do re house and garden as dialysis gets closer. Will you need any extra plumbing or electrical work? And could going onto NDIS help with preparations then ongoing support?

I just had a handyman for over 3 hours doing a number of little jobs... glad of the help. Labour was subsidised by my Commonwealth Home Support Program, which I'm grateful for. My local council made the booking.

hello @Dimity

Hope you're okay with the latest news --- feeling a bit overwhelmed , but can`t do any planning yet as my level has to decrease more

I get NDIS messages to join all the time , not sure when ?

handyman for over 3 hours doing a number of little jobs --- soo glad you got these done @Dimity , they will be a load off your mind now

Big hugs @Shaz51 . Waiting and not being able to plan would be hard.

Yes the handyman was good.

Nice day here, expecting rain overnight.

Re: Chronic kidney disease & mental health

next checkup is in February @Dimity so maybe the specialist might have more of an idea then

very hot and humid here , no rain here

they had rain 2 hours away from us so it might be coming soon

i completely agree with @Chasingsunsets, you really have shown so much strength!
sounds like there's some pros and cons to having the dialysis done at home @Shaz51, i know you've mentioned that travelling can be exhausting at times. change can be a lil scary hey. we're here for you though 💙

Re: Chronic kidney disease & mental health

Thanks @rav3n

Our little hospital has no dialysis machines so I would have to go to the city hospital one hour away 4 days a week for 5 hours each day on a machine

A home dialysis I can plug myself in for overnight for 8 hours every night

Re: Chronic kidney disease & mental health

oh that would definitely save a lot of travel time! @Shaz51 are home dialyses expensive/difficult to set up?

In response to: Re: Chronic kidney disease & mental health

Re: Chronic kidney disease & mental health

Don't think it costs anything but I have to learn to attach myself on and off the machine @rav3n

Would be easier just to walk into a hospital and the nurse attached you to the machine and gives you snacks 🤔
