Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Hi @Dimity , I'm glad your exercise group went well.

Did you get anything out of the GP appt?

I had a good day out but forgot to get meds at the chemist. Will have to do that today. I also still need to take the 2 boxes to the Opp Shop...not sure if today though. I'll see how I feel when I get up.

I also want to tackle more of the long kitchen bench, as the bins go out tonight.

Hope your day is better today.

I hope you got through what you wanted to @NatureLover . I realised it was someone's birthday and I hadn't sent a card, so I'm ashamed. It was a bit miserable today. I'm

also struggling with a mistake on the government My Health Record.

Achievements this week - none I can think of. Goals for tomorrow - blank, except chasing up the records error. My attempt at a routine? Lost for now.

I'll get a cocoa.

I hope you're not struggling with SAD. Maybe I have some.

I did my daily quantum of chores for the first time this week... hopefully I'll do more tomorrow.

I think you used to do errands on Fridays but now it's a work day? Good luck @NatureLover .

Well done on getting your chores done yesterday, @Dimity .

Sorry a mistake was made on your My Health Record. Were you able to get it fixed?

Yes, Friday used to be errands day but now it's work.

Had a successful day on Thursday - the Opp Shop accepted my 2 boxes, I got my monthly meds from the chemist, and tackled the long kitchen bench again, including lots of paperwork shredding.

Today I need to go out for rhubarb but that's all. Maybe I can continue the kitchen bench work. Also need to do raking.

I hope you don't have any S.A.D. The weather truly has been gloomy. It also feels cold this morning. Good luck.

Sounds like Thursday was quite productive for you @NatureLover .

I didn't resolve the medical records problem. The govt helpline noted the issue and told me to contact the practice manager at the place that uploaded the dodgy record.

I hope you're on top of your SAD, it looks as though it will be a wet week.

Good luck resolving the problem with your practice manager, @Dimity .

So far this week the S.A.D. has been manageable. But I'm dreading the 5 upcoming solid days of rain. I'm pretty itchy so am having to limit my therapy lamp use.

I didn't go out for rhubarb yesterday. Maybe today. I did do the raking though - it filled 3 bins. (I borrowed my neighbours' green bins.)

Am still in bed at 8.40am. Need to get up and do something.

Good luck with your chores today.

Hello @NatureLover . I'm just taking a break from chores.

That's a lottt of leaves.

Not "my" practice manager. A practice I've never been to, but affiliated with the urgent care clinic, uploaded a "current" health summary from a retired gp I was seeing 20 years ago. I'm very cranky about it!

I'm so tired of my clutter. I'm trying to get back into dealing with it. I want to feel happy and at peace here, and perhaps re-energised.

Hoping you've felt up to the day and have gone out for your rhubarb.

I'm not sure what to tackle next. Cuppa time.

I've done 4 hours of chores and decluttering @NatureLover . Very little to show for it. Some of it was trawling through a stash of newspaper clippings, being reminded of old interests.

Very impressed by your 4 hours of solid work, @Dimity !

That's a terrible mistake by that practice manager 😥 I hope it can be fixed.

I didn't go out for the rhubarb, but instead stewed some apples. Will have to go out today for library books and a coffee catch up, so will get the rhubarb then.

I'm seeing if I can make some progress @NatureLover but winnowing papers is slow and doesn't clear much space. I'm still moving stuff around, sorting some and discarding others.

It sounds as though you're meeting up with people regularly which is great.
