Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Grrrrr @Dimity . I hear your frustration!

I shouldn't complain, but I'm thinking back to last week when I booked a telehealth appointment, then when I called the clinic in the morning, they said they don't do telehealth anymore because medicare doesn't allow them to. I think this change was a spanner in the works for many. I heard a lot of complaints and the admin staff were run off their feet calling people to say that medicare had stopped allowing telehealth.

I even heard admin telling people with COVID to come into the clinic in person but wear a mask....

So yes, my situation isn't the same, but I feel the frustration.

@tyme the MyMedicare site actually said gps would be incentivised with a triple rebate for Level 2 and Level 3 telehealth consultations for people with healthcare cards

IDK. They just said their clinic doesn't allow it as of a few days ago. They still had signs up in the clinic allowing people to book telehealth appointments @Dimity ..... it's messy... I really don't know anymore. Then again, I don't have a healthcare card....

@tyme my clinic's brief message just said that in future I'd have to prepay $60 ,for a telehealth consultation. I don't know if that's for everyone.

😮 Oh no! @Dimity

Are you saying that because you signed up for MyMedicare, you personally are not being bulk-billed any more? Or is your clinic not bulk-billing anyone any more?

@tyme the Telehealth thing makes no sense to me. Telehealth is so useful! I can hardly believe they are telling people with Covid to come into the clinic with a mask! 😮

Books and food... good for body and soul @NatureLover . Thanks for catching up, I was concerned.

Rest up @NatureLover, I know things haven't been easy. And there's so much bad news around. Sending thoughts of loving-kindness... may good will prevail in all our endeavours.

Thank you so much for your warm caring message, dear @Dimity ❤️

I'm not feeling that much better this morning. Want to go back to bed. I don't need to go out today but I do need a shower and to do some tidying. One good thing is that I have finished all the library books by the exciting thriller author, so now I am reading a boring book that I'm not enjoying. That might help me to do some housework.

I am really sorry you won't be bulk-billed any more as I know your finances are tight 😢🫂

What is the task(s) you're working on at the moment?

Sending warm hugs 💚

Just popping by with some hugs and love for you @NatureLover think perhaps you have been struggling for a bit? Hope that you are managing as best you can and things start to improve for you very soon.

Trying again. It was crashing after I updated the phone but I've updated again and it seems more stable.

@NatureLover were the exciting books a series? It's easy to get caught up if the storyline continues.

Sorry you're down - me too - I need to refind my mojo. Today I posted more forms and documents for my taxicard. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for laundry than the last few days. Cleaning not doomscrolling is another aim. I've already voted. If I can get through the housework I'll tackle some tidying or pick up litter. I need to rake frangipani flowers too.

Best wishes for a productive - and cheerier - day.
