Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

That seems really weird that the forums were crashing after you updated your phone @Dimity . Thanks for persevering as I always look forward to a message from you.

Yes, the exciting thriller books were several related series, all by the same author but focusing on different characters. Unfortunately the library doesn't have them all, and the next one in the series that I really want to read is too expensive to buy ($61). Probably a good thing really so I'll save the money - buying books is a luxury I rarely do.

I was a bit staggered at all the forms you need to apply for a taxi card 😮

I agree about the weather - it's been getting me down. Today might have a little sun between the rain, hopefully? As Sunday and Monday will be heavy rain 😢

I hope that today we can both achieve some housework, and also feel brighter and less depressed. Thanks for your good wishes...sending good wishes back 💚

Hello @NatureLover

Hope you're OK. I'm dismayed by the referendum results.

Your books sound terrific. Perhaps you could recommend your library buys the sequel - and ask to be the first to reserve it.

I got some chores done - not much really, as I overslept again. I had to air the washing as I pegged it out so late. How did you go? I felt better after my walk as I filled a large bag with litter.

My garden has revived with the rain and the roses and irises are out. How is your garden?

Tomorrow looks like being quiet. Maybe a day for rest and reflection.

Take care.

@Dimity I too am utterly dismayed by the referendum results 😥

I can't request the thriller book as it's too old - library requests must be published in the previous 12 months, unfortunately.

Well done for the chores and litter collecting 👍

Your roses and irises sound simply gorgeous. My favourite rose is called Just Joey. What roses do you have? Two of the communal roses in the garden here have started to bloom 🙂 (but we don't have any Just Joey).

Yesterday I achieved nothing, but today I finally had a shower, washed my hair, did 2 laundry washes and a little washing up. Plus put the recycling and rubbish out - I'm learning the new bin system (we have 3 now). I feel better for achieving something.

Hoping to be back at work tomorrow as I was too depressed to go in on Thursday.

Hoping that you've had a restful day of reflection and looking after yourself, my friend 🙂 💚

I'm glad today was a little better for you @NatureLover and you achieved a few things. It makes a difference.

My local library lets you request books on interlibrary loan. They use an online service called Trove to find where books are held.

Yes Just Joey is a lovely colour. I used to have an Apricot Nectar which is paler. My roses flowering at the moment are Radox Bouquet, Crepuscule, Lorraine Lee and Smiling Eyes. I also have Abraham Darby, Troilus, Iceberg and Mary Mackillop. My irises are yellow. I had a blue Dutch Iris and a row of little mauve and white ones out the front until neighbours removed them. There's bare ground there now.

Today I raked up fallen flowers then walked, feeling a bit glum, so it was nice to get your message. I hope you're feeling up to working tomorrow, it may lift your mood once you're there. I'm getting a haircut.

Have a good day, whatever you decide.

@Dimity @NatureLover @Anastasia @Bow @tyme

Just passing by and saying hi. I finally did my taxes. I did some weeding today, my friend and her mum helped me pick the last of the oranges on the tree. The possum ate a few and is now going for the locquats dammit. I filled 3/4 of the bin with weeds alone. My back will not be happy 2nite. It tends to go into spasm when I am in bed. Oh well. I hope you are all ok and are gentle with yourselves.

Ouchy re your back! @scruffypuffball I hope you get some relief. Good on you for doing your taxes. I'm still sitting on mine. My tax agent is waiting lol.

Good on you for making progress. So proud of you. Please take care and we'll chat soon.

Hello @scruffypuffball nice to see you. Well done on the tax and weeding, both things I grapple with. The tax is done for now but the weeding continues. A couple of years I spotted ringtails eating my grapefruit but they haven't been back.

Hope you can rest up your back.

Well done for achieving all that, @scruffypuffball ! Weeding is hard work.
