Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Not really affected by floods except for very wet backyard @NatureLover and pool where S2 now lives has fish in it!!!

Today people I coach did very well at an event…wish I could elaborate but that would break guidelines. Needless to say I’m happy tonight.

I have a support person who visited yesterday and helped clean my home so I’m very grateful to her. I only have a few more visits from her and I will really miss her.

@NatureLover 💚🤗💚

Thanks for your message and news, @Anastasia ...Yes, your Dads' ashes into little urns would have been very difficult...thinking of you. Did you manage to get to sleep?

I hope the one hour shifts have been going well in the mornings, and you feel more encouraged than that day when the machines broke down. Will be sending wishes for the other business(es) to join you.

Today is feeling a little more normal to me...up early and into my normal routine. I want to try and catch up with everyone's news on the forums this morning if I can. Might take more than one day though.

What will you do when she leaves? Will you get another person?

I will try to catch up more fully with your news on the forums shortly. Sending lots of 💛

Hello dear @NatureLover

I'm happy to hear today is a bit more normal for you. I am hoping that continues for the day and you can catch your breath.

My hour shifts had been on hold due to treacherous weather for a couple of days. I went back on Friday and the same issues occurred. I had done five hours of job specific training in the city on the Thursday so I knew why things were happening but didn't have the skills to repair the machine. Luckily my bf is an expert in the field and came with me for moral support so took charge got me through, kept the customers happy. He then spoke to the owner and the owner has since replaced the machine. I go back Tuesday. I'm nervous but hoping things run smoothly. Thank goodness for my bf. His knowledge, know how and experience is the only reason I've taken on my business venture knowing he'll be my OB1 Kanobe every step of the way.

The next two weeks I'm in the office training my replacement. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. Just have to keep my eye on the prize, two more weeks!!!!

I slept ok, woken up at 1 and then struggled to go back to sleep.

Enjoy your YOU day gorgeous NL ☕💛

Hi @Anastasia , thanks for understanding about my 'me' day and about catching my breath - that's exacly what it feels like. ❤️

I didn't even think to ask if there was flooding in your area! 😮 I know the heavy rain was due to reach Sydney. I really hope you don't have flooding - I think I remember you said your house was on sloping land?

Thanks for your news about your morning shift training - that's good the owner has replaced the machines, and that your bf is able to be such a good support. 🙂 Phew.

I was going to ask about your replacement at work. I guess that means you'll get less work done, as you train them.

We've finally had some rain - you can send some down here if you have too much. ( @Eve7 , you can send some here too!)

My front door handle has broken off, so I've been trying to get a handyman to fix that and a few other things. The first guy rearranged me twice and then was a no-show with no communication. So I've arranged another handyman to come early next week.

I've also bought an anxiety ring. I've never worn rings before. This one has tiny beads that you can spin and slide - I really like it. However, it is too big for my smallest finger and too small for the other fingers. I am going to contact the company I got it from and ask either for one to be made in the right size, or maybe they can adjust the size.

It sounds like you're getting slightly more sleep than before?

How is your Mum adjusting?

Hugs and 💚 ☕🌷🌞

Greer about the unreliable handyman @NatureLover.

This next one will be good 🙏

Sending rain your way, but just enough.

My backyard is a slush pit, neighbours behind are higher and cause some flooding, not inside thank goodness. We do have water marks and mould on the walls I need to deal with.

I love that you bought an anxiety ring, I hope the company will do the right thing and assist in getting you the right fit. I've contemplated getting one for some time now, i think I will knowing you have one. I hope they help. My hands are an embarrassment and now they'll be in full view 😱

Yes more sleep the last couple of nights. I fell asleep early last night before I put phone on silent so it was my fault I got woken early hours.

My Mum's not good. Rapidly losing weight, talking about not wanting to be here. She's made a Dr's appointment for next week. I hope he suggests medication, that's IF she discloses her thoughts. Such a worry NL.

Please enjoy your day, there's no need to respond today.

It's all about you x

Thanks for your news, and of course I want to respond, it feels like ages since we've chatted. @Anastasia

Water marks and mould on the walls - oh no! And flooding coming from your neighbour higher on the hill 😞 I really hope your rain stops soon!

Yes, I have a better feeling about the next handyman. Plus this one doesn't require a minimum of 3 hours' work each time. I often have small jobs that need doing and don't have the power tools or the practical skills to do them, so if I can have this guy's number in my phone, that would be great for the future. He also lives in my suburb. 👍

I didn't think about your hands, being in full view with your new career. I think the idea of an anxiety ring is good, as it will hopefully remind you (and me) to not scratch. Not that you are aware of your scratching, as it happens at night while you're asleep. I've tried wearing those soft white cotton gloves at night, but somehow I take them off in the night without being aware, and then scratch while half asleep. I'm on my computer now, but will post a pic of my anxiety ring from my phone after this.

Hey...I just paused to have a think...and I can't recall anyone's hands at my favourite cafe or any other cafe that I've been to. I am always focused on the food or the coffee that they're handing over, whether I'm seated or getting takeaway. I'm sure that's the same in supermarkets and other retail stores as well. I hope that's an encouragement to you.

I wondered if your Mum wasn't coping...I remember she made your Dad sign that note about not leaving her, so I thought it might be pretty unbearable for her 😞 Are you going to the appt with her? I will be sending wishes that she is able to express how she's feeling to the GP, and get medication if possible.

Am so pleased you've had a bit more sleep in the last couple of nights!

Much 💚 and wishing for sunshine for you to dry up the flooding.

Thank you for your lovely message and wishes. I think you're right about people not focusing on my hands, but just in case I love your ring so much I'm going to order one now!! We can be sisters with matching rings @NatureLover 🙏💍💛☕🌞

I will talk to Mum about accompanying her and the discussion she really needs to have with or without me 💔
