Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Hi @Anastasia , thanks for your good wishes re work...same for you! I gather that you had an anxious week last week while away, regarding your two boys...I was sorry to read. How are they now? I hope you were able to enjoy being with your parents and bf for most of the time...

I'm not sure I really have a green thumb like Maggie, but I do love the garden and enjoy gardening sometimes.

Take care of yourself 💙

I'm so sorry to hear that your catch up with your brother didn't go well @NatureLover , sending you lots of love 💞🤗

My boy is not in a good place he wasn't before I left and still isn't. He's meds have been tweaked so time will tell if that helps. He has lots of things going on so in time they will settle just trying to be there to support him in the waves as best as I can. It's a worry and I wish for a better life for him. My other son is ok, he spent some time at home yesterday which is rare but nice.

Take care today, put that forcefield up against negative vibes, I'll have mine up too. Hugs and hugs 🤗💜

I'm sorry to hear this 😞 You must feel so worried. I hope the meds tweak works well for him and his situation improves soon...

I'm glad your other son is OK.

Yes, a forcefield against negative vibes is what's needed for work...thanks. Good luck with yours 💙

Thanks @NatureLover .... little Holly seems to be improving daily now, and is doing well. She will see the vet again on Friday for a quick check up. He wanted to see her before the stitches are due to come out.

I am sorry that you ended up having a disagreement with your brother. But glad you were both able to acknowledge you were both under a lot of stress at present, and able to put it behind you. Such things, especially with those you are close to, is very upsetting however, and its understandable you are feeling fragile as a result. Its good you were able to rest yesterday. Hoping your work day is not overly onerous for you, and that it gives you a sense of achievement and worthiness.

Hi also dear @Anastasia ... I hope your work day is productive and short! Sending love and encouragement.

@Emelia8 am so pleased to hear that your little furbaby is doing well, better every day 🙂

Thanks for your good wishes about work...it went well, and it did make me feel better and pull me out of myself. Then yesterday was the dentist and psychiatrist, which also went better then expected (I had scheduled them too close together). I've decided how to resolve the one thing lingering from my fight with my brother, so that's good. Thanks for your understanding.

How long do the side effects of the radiation therapy last, after the therapy has stopped? I know you said the skin burning /pain could last a while...

Sending much 💜

Hello dear @NatureLover . You have been a bit quiet this week, so I thought I was come for a visit. I think you were working today, and I hope that has gone, or is going, well.

Well done on accomplishing both the dentist and the psychiatrist on the same day yesterday, and the fact that both appointments went better than you expected is a bonus. Ahhh .. I am very pleased to hear that you have come up with a way to resolve any lingering issue after the fight with your brother. I hope it resolves any ongoing bitterness or upset feelings for both of you.

The side effects of the radiation usually get worse for a week or so after the radiotherapy is completed. Then it should slowly resolve over the following week or two. At least the annoying cough has gone now. But the skin itching, burning and prickling has not shown any sign of improvement as yet, despite the special ointment they told me to use post radiation. And the sharp stabbing pains and general soreness in the breast tissue itself, is still pretty bad. I had hoped that after a long recovery from surgery, that the soreness side of things was now behind me. But no ... just when it was finally comfortable enough to lie on the left side or the front (as I like to do) ... the radiation has caused the flesh soreness to return, and it makes it very uncomfortable to find a position which does not hurt. But ... I'm sure it will all resolve again over the next couple of weeks. I hope.

I think you have been getting some pretty hot weather down in Melbourne this week? I hope its not been too hot to enjoy some nice walks to breath in and absorb some healing nature.

Sending you some kind thoughts, hugs and love.

Emelia 🤗💓
