Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Hi @Emelia8 I went looking for news about your furbaby...I'm glad she's home again, but sorry to hear the lipoma might regrow 😞 Also hope the liver re-tests in a month go OK. 💜

Thank you @NatureLover 🙏🐶

My poor little girl is feeling very sore and sorry for herself right now. I can relate, I expect I felt just the same after my surgery 12 weeks ago. But like me, she will recover. 😄

What are your plans for the weekend sweet NL?

@Emelia8 your poor little girl, feeling so sore...but I'm glad that the surgery has given her more time with you...that is really good news. Is she having to rest, no running around? She probably doesn't feel like running around anyway, I guess...

Thanks for asking. I am seeing my brother today...I haven't seen him for a year, as he lives interstate. Am feeling pretty flat today so I hope it goes OK. It will be lovely to see him.

Take care. 💜

Thank you @NatureLover 💕

Yes Holly is meant to rest for the next 10 days. Although she has already done her morning check of her 3 acre territory and come back happy. She is clearly very sore and has a sore throat making it painful to swallow. But she seems pretty good. Already her breathing seems a little better than it was anyway, despite a lot of swelling in the area the vet was working on. Which is great. I think once the localised swelling reduces and her sore throat from the tubes down her neck improves, she will be feeling much more comfortable than she did prior to her surgery. She has had some breakfast already along with her antibiotic tablet hidden amongst it.😊🐶 At least her appetite has not been affected.

Oh how lovely for both you and your brother. I hope you have a lovely visit with him. Are you meeting up at your place or going somewhere else? I hope you pick up quickly and that your feelings of being flat improves with the visit. Is your brother older or younger than yourself? Are you quite close? I hope it all goes really well. He is a brave man travelling from interstate with all the shutdowns occuring or possibility of happening again. I'm glad he has been able to visit.

You take care too @NatureLover ... and I hope you are enjoying the pleasure of having a lovely clean neat home. I'm assuming you have heard nothing about your house inspection last weekend? So all good. 👍🌸

@Maggie ... If you are looking in at all .... worried about you, and sending much love your way. I hope you are feeling able to come back soon. Missing you so much.

I hope your visit from your brother lifted your spirits @NatureLover 🙏💞

@Maggie sending love to you sweetheart, you are very much missed. I had lots of strawberries over the past few days and thought of you each time 🍓🍓

I've just come back from a few days away. They had a pet pig at the accommodation who was given meal scraps each day. Once I learned that I purposely left him some breakfast each day 🐖💕

They also has a vege garden that needed lots of tlc which had me thinking of both you and NL with your Green thumbs 💚

Hello also to @outlander @Emelia8 @Eve7 and anyone else following along 👋👋💕💞

Hey @NatureLover

I have had a busy weekend so please forgive me for not dropping by. I hope you're well and your days have been fulfilling.

Have you heard back from your inspection? I am sure you passed with flying colours.

Lots of love

Hi @Eve7 , I really appreciate you dropping by...I hope your busy weekend was busy with good things?

I haven't heard back about the inspection yet...no news is good news, as they only contact you if something's wrong, I think. I'll give it another week before I start to relax fully. I've kind of fallen in a heap since the inspection...but work today will force me to function at a higher level.

Hoping that your work this week goes well...I'm not sure how long your mid-week ECT is lasting for...but I hope that goes well too. 💛

Hi @Emelia8 , I was glad to hear that your furbaby is able to eat despite her sore throat, and that she was feeling up to doing a check of the property...I hope that each day has some improvement for her.

Thanks for your kind wishes re my brother...I ended up having a big fight with him. We are very close, so a fight is very unusual. We patched it up, and figured out that we both have elevated stress at the moment. We were able to have lunch at a cafe and part on good terms, but I'm still upset and fragile. Wasn't able to do anything except lie down yesterday; too depressed. Somehow got to get myself together for work today.

Take care, Emelia 💜
