Numb again

Numb again

I have tried contacting online support but everything is unavailable or offline .

I was raped 7 years ago and things happen so I made myself numb and supprised everything. I learned about the breathing techniques as well as the 5,4,3,2,1 tool. Tonight it's not working . I am having flash backs like crazy and I can't get my mind and body to calm down to relax and sleep . At this stage I am in for a night of night terrors and I can't do that again tonight. I am shutting down again but not sure how to stop it .

Re: Numb again

@Pollyotter I hope you don't get blocked, I know what that's like (I won't get into that because of rules etc). Fingers crossed for you. Maybe you could message a mod just to be safe, or email? I'd love to still see you around, you seem nice

Re: Numb again

I cannot see why you would be blocked @Pollyotter Whilst occasionally you have skated close to the line with some details you haven't broken any of our guidelines in an offensive way - sometimes we just need to change/alter posts so they stick within the guidelines - we have al had to do that so it isn't a reason for you to be blocked. I do understand your apprehension Hon but we are also here to support you and you need to be able to talk. As I said before - we are pretty good t reding between the lines so as long as you do not describe anything in graphic detail or break any of the other guidelines you should be okay.

@Former-Member

I'm sorry to hear that. You can rant here . Heavan knows I do that often enough so @Zoe7 and @Lee82 are used to that by now

Re: Numb again

@Zoe7

I in a stupid attempt to feel normal or a small pice of normal I slept with a woman .

I have never done that before and I regret it do much as I can't look at myself at the moment

Please don't think funny

Re: Numb again

These things happen @Pollyotter There is no shame in it all Hon. We all need a little 'normal' in our lives and although you regret it now - it is done. You cannot change it but you can move on from it. Accept that it is what you needed in the moment and despite regrets now it was a choice you made ...and that is okay. I don't think it is funny at all - I think you wanted some human connection and you found that - not ideal now that you have had time to dwell on it but maybe a lesson to learn for future reference. There is nothing wrong with what you have done at all @Pollyotter - it is natural to want and need that touch and company so look at it for what it is - a little bit of connection in an otherwise really difficult time. I actually think it was brave of you to seek that company especially knowing your history - so give yourself credit for overcoming some of your fears.

Re: Numb again

Hon with what happened last time I can so understand your dilemma right now. It would be bringing back so much for you and I think a lot of that is projected into this last 'incident' (for want of a better word). You have done absolutely nothing wrong @Pollyotter Life throws us these moments and you acted as you felt in that moment - it doesn't mean there are not regrets but you also do not have to let those consume you. It was not a mistake at the time so see it as what it is - just a blip on your radar and along with that is knowing you can possibly be in a relationship again - that may be the lesson you take away from here.
