Numb again

I have tried contacting online support but everything is unavailable or offline .

I was raped 7 years ago and things happen so I made myself numb and supprised everything. I learned about the breathing techniques as well as the 5,4,3,2,1 tool. Tonight it's not working . I am having flash backs like crazy and I can't get my mind and body to calm down to relax and sleep . At this stage I am in for a night of night terrors and I can't do that again tonight. I am shutting down again but not sure how to stop it .

I hear you Hon None of that is unusual so lets start with the one thing we can control the easiest @Pollyotter - controlling your heartrate ...slow deep breaths to begin with.

That's okay Hon - we have all night. One step at a time even if it is baby steps. For now I will sit here with you @Pollyotter You can cry as much as you like and enclose yourself in your corner. Tobes sends a cuddle too. I do know it is super hard to get through these flashbacks but you are not alone

There are a lot of really kind and compassionate people on the forum @Pollyotter I have been here over 3 years and have made some really great friends. The community as a whole is wonderful. You will always find people you disagree with or do not get on with - just like in any community - but on the whole we look out for each other ...and you are part of the community Hon
